Archos has announced their new lineup of devices for the European market today, with four new Platinum phones. The lineup features HSPA+ and dual SIM support across the lineup, as well as a MT 6752 1.3GHZ dual-core processor.
The FCC spilled some details on the Archos GamePad 2 and we later saw it briefly appear online. As of today however, Archos has come forward with some official details. We now have an official set of specs, some pricing and word the GamePad 2 will be available for purchase in the US at "the end of Q4."
If you’re looking for a good entry-level tablet, Archos is often a good bet. With their new Platinum lineup, Archos is definitely pinching from the iPad lineup in regard to device design. What they’re not doing is presenting a steep price tag to accompany them.
When Archos pre-announced its new device lineup ahead of the IFA trade show early this month, it made mention of the successor to its unique GamePad gaming tablet. The device, however, has not yet been seen in the wild and we are left wondering if it had been scrapped altogether. It seems, though, that the GamePad 2 is still on its way and will indeed be an upgrade compared to the original version.
Archos had already talked about plans to unveil several new devices in the remainder of the year and it looks like IFA is going to be the place that will be happening. Basically, it looks like Archos is giving a sneak peek as to what they will be showing during IFA. Coming by way of a recently issued press release, Archos has offered some details on how they plan to use their Android "expertise" to build upon their 3G connected product lines.
We know that Archos has several announcements planned for IFA. In fact, earlier this month we learned how they had "more than 5 product announcements" coming during the show. They have yet to reveal all the specifics in terms of the devices however we do know they will include some smartphones.
Sounds like Archos is at it again. The French company, known for selling rebranded Chinese tablets with budget prices is set to release another tablet in its Platinum line but with a slight twist. The Archos 80b Platinum will be running on a Rockchip CPU instead of an Allwinner chip like its predecessor.
The Archos GamePad launched for those in the US back in March and it looks like the follow-up device is already in the works. The device is called the Archos GamePad 2 and currently sporting a model number of A70GP2. We have yet to hear anything direct from Archos, but judging from the FCC filing where the GamePad 2 was discovered -- it looks like it may be several months before anything official is announced.
Archos announced a trio of smartphones back in May and it looks like there are more coming later in the year. The details are still at a minimum, however the news is coming direct from Archos. Specifically, Archos has mentioned these plans in the perspectives section of their H1 2013 financial results report.
Archos has announced the latest addition in their Elements line of tablets. The new model is the Archos 80 Xenon and it will be arriving with an 8-inch display and Jelly Bean. This particular model will not be available for a few weeks time, but Archos has released a full set of specs along with some pricing.
