Archos Platinum smartphones and Oxygen tablet revealed

IFA 2014 is almost upon us and Archos wants everyone to know that it will also be there. To stay ahead of the spotlight-grabbing flood of announcements that will take place next week, it is unveiling ahead of time its new batch of budget-friendly Android devices, including two new smartphones from its Platinum line and a shiny 10.1-inch Oxygen tablet.

Archos 80 Helium 4G tablet aims at the entry level market

Archos has rolled out its latest tablet available in Great Britain called the Archos 80 Helium 4G. The tablet doesn't offer the fastest of anything under its hood, but what it does offer is one of the lowest priced tablets with 4G connectivity on the market. Archos says that it is the first 4G compatible tablet selling for under £200.

Archos styles itself as a pioneer in the media player and Android tablet category, but are relatively new to the smartphone industry, jumping in with their Platinum series smartphones in 2013. This year, Archos dives in head first into the rapidly saturating budget Android smartphone market with quad-core and octa-core variants of the smartphone they call Oxygen. Archos ArcBook gives Android fans a budget notebook

Archos is revealing a touchscreen notebook, powered by Android. The ArcBook is a 10.1-inch notebook computer operating with Android 4.2, and has a full keyboard and trackpad aimed at “students and mobile professionals”. The price is right, but is the form factor?

Archos mulls over joining the Windows Phone race

Archos might have a reputation for outing very low-cost Android devices, and one curious gaming handheld, but it hasn't exactly been able to match the output, not to mention the profits, of the bigger dogs. It isn't known if that factor comes into play, but it seems that the company is interested in shipping Windows Phone devices sometime in the future.

Archos Neon tablet lineup unveiled

Another series of Archos tablets have been unveiled. This latest is the Neon tablet lineup and it will include three models. Specifically, the lineup will include the 90 Neon, 97 Neon and 101 Neon. And as we have seen based on earlier Archos announcements, those names mean the tablets will have 9.0, 9.7 and 10.1-inch displays respectively.
