Facebook Beta for Android updated with bug fixes galore

On June 27, we reported that the social network had announced the Facebook beta for Android app, which promised to be a (sorely needed) improvement offering better performance and other such statements we've heard before. It has been about a week, and an update for the beta app was just rolled out featuring a host of bug fixes while retaining the same version number.

While there is a fair bit of history dealing with the Fourth of July, we suspect many of the readers will be out to have some fun. That could mean anything from watching a parade or fireworks display to spending some time at a bar-b-que with friends and family. EU Watchdogs inquiring to Google about Android

As of late, it seems as if the EU Regulations Commission has been pestering everyone for their doggy treats. But none more so than Google and Microsoft, both of whom are the biggest players in their respective segments. This time, the EU is probing Google in regards to reports that they've been discount pricing Android to manufacturers with the expectation that they increase Google App awareness to their clients.

Google Maps adds over 1000 new Street View locations

Google Maps has revitalized the way we travel in so many ways, including the ability to (for all intents and purposes) void every other aftermarket GPS device on long trips. One of Google Maps' achievements is its ability to go down to street level and see an area face to face, something which a satellite from any other competitors simply cannot do. So with an add on of over 1000 new Street View locations around the world, finding that getaway spot may just get a whole lot easier.

MTV video-streaming apps come to iOS – Android will have to wait

Today the parent company to MTV, Viacom, has just launched a few new applications that deliver some pretty great features to those enjoy iOS devices like the iPhone. MTV, MTV2, and more have all been updated with full video-streaming capabilities, sneak peak previews and more. They have apps already on both iOS and Android, but just got improved. Sadly the Android versions will have to wait.

Android finally gets Vodio, the video searching application

Vodio, the video searching application that merges Youtube, video news results, and other services such as DailyMotion together in one vast detailed list of results based on search subjects, has finally made its way over to Android. Previously it was only available on iOS, where it began to garner rave reviews. But surprisingly, that's not the biggest news of all.

Vine surpasses Instagram as top Social App on Google Play

With Android and iOS apps hitting all time sales highs, and with social connectivity and applications at a whole new peak, Vine has taken the Gold Crown of Social App status away from Instagram. That means that where Instagram previously stood before, at #1 in Social App status on Google Play, now lies Vine. It seems as if then, that consumers really, really like 6 second video clips...
