Google to remove black bar in favor of new “App Launcher” soon [Update]

This morning we're getting multiple reports that Google has changed up their usual black navigation bar on their homepage, and replaced it with a brand new Android-style app launcher. The horizontal black bar for navigation to Search, Images, Maps, Gmail, Play, YouTube and more have all been moved to an app launcher menu. Blending the lines between Android and desktop even more.

Facebook Beta for Android updated with bug fixes galore

On June 27, we reported that the social network had announced the Facebook beta for Android app, which promised to be a (sorely needed) improvement offering better performance and other such statements we've heard before. It has been about a week, and an update for the beta app was just rolled out featuring a host of bug fixes while retaining the same version number.

July 4th Independence Day app roundup

While there is a fair bit of history dealing with the Fourth of July, we suspect many of the readers will be out to have some fun. That could mean anything from watching a parade or fireworks display to spending some time at a bar-b-que with friends and family.
