Angry Birds Space hits Play Market

Angry Birds Space has gone live in the Android Play Market, offering bird-hurling pig haters the opportunity to fling feathers in space. Featuring sixty levels spread across both space and planets, with a mixture of zero-gravity and non-Earth gravity to get your head around, the updated game also introduces new birds and a variety of in-app purchase content. For instance, there's the DANGER ZONE pack, with 30 of what developers Rovio Mobile says are the "most difficult levels" every offered. The regular game itself features a number of hidden levels, including one focused on anti-cyberbullying. The Android version of the game is a free download, unlike the iOS versions which kick off at $0.99, though that does mean you get adverts. You can download Angry Birds Space here. [via SlashGear]

Samsung’s Galaxy Note gets 30 free Angry Birds Space levels

Angry Birds is nothing short of a sensation, and Samsung isn't above exploiting that fact to make their Galaxy Note superphone look that much better. On that note (ba-dum bum) they've announced a partnership with Rovio to bring 30 extra levels of Angry Birds Space to Galaxy Note owners when it launches on March 22nd. You hear that, Angry Birds fanatics? All you have to do to play 30 extra levels in a free game is to buy a $650 smartphone. Just hand over your money now.

If you haven't heard the first true sequel to Rovio's smash hit Angry Birds is coming later this month, you must have been hiding inside a exogorth. To explain the physics behind the new Angry Birds Space, Rovio employed the assistance of someone who ought to know: NASA astronaut Don Pettit, currently living on the International Space Station. With the help of an Angry Birds keychain, a green balloon, a bungie cord and no gravity, he explains some of the features we're likely to see in Angry Birds Space when it launches on March 22nd.

Who's ready for more Angry Birds? In case you missed it a few weeks ago we uncovered some teaser videos showing that Angry Birds Space is coming March 22nd. The second teaser video wasn't revealed until just recently and hints that it may launch with the Galaxy Note's next update. Now teaser #3 has confirmed the official announcement will be March 8th -- and probably just in time for that iPad 3 launch.

If you've been itching to get your hands on some zero gravity avian destruction, you won't have too long to wait. Angry Birds Space is scheduled for release on all mobile platforms on March 22nd, but The Guardian reports that it won't be just mindless fun: the game will include content from both the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and National Geographic, with the aim of educating you while you annoy everyone around you with sounds of chirping, snorting and crashing timber.
