ASUS updating Transformer to fix keyboard dock issues

Until today we have not heard anything regarding keyboard dock problems and issues on the ASUS EeePad Transformer Tablet. It seems that certain models are in fact experiences some problems and docking has been difficult for some users. Our hands-on had no issues. According to the ASUS UK Facebook page they are rolling out the fix now.

Google Rolling Out Fix for Android Security over Wifi

Over the last few days there has been some talk regarding another security issue in Google's Android OS. Apparently there is a problem where 3rd party's could potentially access and snoop around in a users Calander, and Contacts. From what we are hearing this is a security loophole that is causing some snooping while a user is operating on a Wifi network. Google quickly mentioned this has been fixed in Android 2.3.4 and above but all earlier versions need the fix, that is like 99% of Android phones.

Motorola Xoom 3.1 update hitting 3G and Wifi models both already

So you have all been following along with Google I/O right? If not check out all things I/O here. There were so many announcements about Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and Android 3.1 Honeycomb updates and more. For those that might have missed it Android 3.0 Honeycomb is being officially upgraded to 3.1 and the roll-out started OTA yesterday. From the Google event word was spread that it was for 3G only, and Wifi Xooms would have to wait a few weeks.

Droid X Gingerbread update approved

Last week, we reported a rumor that a Droid X Gingerbread update could be coming May 13th after being submitted to Verizon several times for approval. The update had originally been slated for an April release, but that slipped since Verizon wanted a few changes before signing off. The word now is that Gingerbread for the Droid X has been approved and will be coming out as an OTA update as early as Friday, May 13th. So while still a rumor, it takes the next giant step out of the shadows.

Nexus S Android 2.3.4 update can be manually installed!

I hate waiting for things. I especially hate waiting on software updates. I would install an update manually in a second if it meant that I would get it right now rather than having to wait until a device maker felt like pushing it out OTA. I bet that a lot of you are the same way, and if you have a Nexus S smartphone and you are waiting for the Android 2.3.4 update to get pushed to you, why wait?

Android 2.3.4 OTA rolling out to Nexus S and Nexus One

Breaking news here, @GoogleNexus has just confirmed that Android 2.3.4 is all set and about to start rolling out in OTA updates to the Nexus One and Nexus S for some bug fixes, but the S also is getting GTalk video and voice chat. This is totally news to us. We reported that it may be coming, but not this soon. Oh and they even mentioned that a surprise is coming also. I wonder if we have a Nexus 2 in the works.

Samsung Vibrant gets an update tweak

Users of the Samsung Vibrant (aka the Samsung Galaxy S) can get an update for their phones that fixes a few bugs here and there. The update, known as KB5, also updates Gmail and YouTube, boosting them to R9 versions respectively. There was also a DRM issue with the music player that prevented some music from playing. Samsung has fixed that as well.
