HTC EVO 4G Update to Gingerbread 2.3 Starting June 6th [Official]

It is official, starting Monday June 6th Sprint will start the rollout for Android 2.3 Gingerbread for their hot selling HTC EVO 4G we all know and love. The EVO has been one of the biggest selling Android phones aside from the Galaxy S and has been a huge success for Sprint. The update to that sweet Gingerbread was talked about back in April, then leaked a few days later. This will be official, and tasty just as Gingerbread has been.

Motorola Droid X Gingerbread is rolling out in a “soak test”

Earlier this week we mentioned that the Droid X would be starting the Android Gingerbread 2.3 update Friday the 27th. It looks as if this time the date given has actually came true, sort of. According to sources the OTA update for 2.3.3 Gingerbread is rolling out in what Verizon is calling a "soak test" or a test run to put it plainly. It looks as if a few users are starting to see the updates on their devices.

T-Mobile G2x update to Gingerbread coming “by summer” and will address issues

The last few days there has been lots of talk about the G2x and what is going on with it. First there was reports that it was pulled from T-Mobile due to quality control issues, only later denied by T-Mobiles twitter account stating that it was not pulled for QC and rather it was low on inventory because it was selling in high volumes. Now reports are coming out that they are currently getting ready to release the Gingerbread update soon and that it will fix some of the issues being reported.

ASUS updating Transformer to fix keyboard dock issues

Until today we have not heard anything regarding keyboard dock problems and issues on the ASUS EeePad Transformer Tablet. It seems that certain models are in fact experiences some problems and docking has been difficult for some users. Our hands-on had no issues. According to the ASUS UK Facebook page they are rolling out the fix now.

Google Rolling Out Fix for Android Security over Wifi

Over the last few days there has been some talk regarding another security issue in Google's Android OS. Apparently there is a problem where 3rd party's could potentially access and snoop around in a users Calander, and Contacts. From what we are hearing this is a security loophole that is causing some snooping while a user is operating on a Wifi network. Google quickly mentioned this has been fixed in Android 2.3.4 and above but all earlier versions need the fix, that is like 99% of Android phones.

Motorola Xoom 3.1 update hitting 3G and Wifi models both already

So you have all been following along with Google I/O right? If not check out all things I/O here. There were so many announcements about Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and Android 3.1 Honeycomb updates and more. For those that might have missed it Android 3.0 Honeycomb is being officially upgraded to 3.1 and the roll-out started OTA yesterday. From the Google event word was spread that it was for 3G only, and Wifi Xooms would have to wait a few weeks.
