Sony Ericsson unveils the neo V and offers details on Android 2.3.4 update for entire 2011 range

Sony Ericsson has made a couple important announcements today that fans of Android and SE devices will like. Sony Ericsson has a new smartphone that will be landing in select markets during Q4 2011 called the Xperia neo V. The smartphone will feature the unique Facebook inside Xperia software and rock a 3D sweep camera. The smartphone will be offered in white, blue, and silver colors, measures 116 x 57 x 13mm, and weighs 126g.

T-Mobile G2x 2.3 Gingerbread Update Less Than a Month Away?

Many users ran out and bought the LG G2x when it first launched over on T-Mobile. It was what we all thought to be a vanilla Android device aka Google experience device packing a dual-core chip and it would rock. Don't get me wrong the phone is great but the software had all sorts of LG tweaks and overall it had more than a few issues. Last we heard the update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread and bug fixes was coming by summer and we haven't heard anything else regarding the matter.

Droid 2 Update to Gingerbread Coming After Droid 3 Launches

All you Droid 2 owners around that have been patiently waiting for the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update might be sad to hear this but you might be waiting just a little longer. A leaked document floating around states that the Droid 2 Global wont get Gingerbread til after the Droid 3 launches. It is safe to say the regular Droid 2 is probably in the same boat but we could be wrong.

CyanogenMod 7.1 RC now available for Download

Everyone's favorite Android distribution CyanogenMod has now released their latest and greatest and that is CyanogenMod 7.1 RC1. This is the first official release for the new CM 7.1 that brings Android up to 2.3.4 and to over 40 devices (44 to be specific). This latest update brings many changes and the changelog sure does have some great additions as well as showing CM7.1 bringing support to many new devices like the Galaxy S, Cliq, LG Optimus x2/T-Mobile G2x and more.
