RCA Mobile TV Tablet unveiled with availability expected in the spring

RCA has unveiled, and will be showing off an Android tablet during CES. The device is called the RCA Mobile TV Tablet, and as the name would imply -- a big feature of this device will be television related. In fact, the tablet will be a dual-tuner device featuring a standard over-the-air tuner and a Dyle mobile TV tuner.

Polaroid 7-inch “kids tablet” with Android 4.0 revealed ahead of CES

While we are expecting Polaroid to unveil an Android powered camera during CES, it looks like they will also be showing off an Android tablet. This is far from the first we have heard from Polaroid in terms of tablets, this one however, is designed with kids in mind. Which really just means that the tablet has a durable exterior as well as some other kid friendly features.

E FUN Nextbook 7GP tablet unveiled with a 7″ display and Jelly Bean

Coming a bit ahead of CES, the Nextbook 7GP tablet has been officially unveiled by E FUN. The Nextbook 7GP will be the first in a new line of Android tablets coming from E FUN. Given that, we are expecting another announcement to follow once CES officially begins, however in the meantime -- lets get into the specs, pricing and release date for this particular model.

Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition hits Android tablets November 28

For us, one of the most exciting games of the year has to be Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition, which takes the much-loved computer RPG and adds some all new content to make it even better (we hope). The best part is that Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition won't just be releasing on PC, but Android too. Today Overhaul Games - the group developing the Enhanced Edition - announced a new release date for the Android tablet version of the game: November 28.

Fuhu Nabi 2 tablet available for pre-order, launching July 22

The Fuhu Nabi 2 tablet is on the way to stores, and it's got your children square in its sights. It's available for pre-order now from sites like Wal-Mart, GameStop, and Best Buy, with it scheduled to launch at Target on July 22. The tablet, which it targeted at tiny humans, also comes with a tiny price: $199.

Chameleon launcher gives early access to Kickstarter donors

There's a ton of launchers available at the moment, but depressingly few are for Android tablets (with Go Launcher HD being the best among them). Chameleon is a new tablet launcher that uses an impressive methodology: its layout changes depending upon the time of day, connection, or even GPS location, catering itself to which apps you use in which situations. Like seemingly everybody these days, the creators have started a Kickstarter campaign to get Chameleon finished and into the Google Play Store.

Gamefly’s GameQ magazine app now available

If you don't know what Gamefly is, think "Netflix for video games" and you've got it right away. Like some game stores, Gamefly has launched its own gaming publication, which it's calling GameQ. Stop me if I'm going too fast for you. The magazine is available in digital format as an Android app, and it's a free download even for those who don't subscribe to the service.

Ematic launches 10-inch ICS tablet for $219

There are so many value-priced Android tablets out there that we tend to gloss over them unless there's something notable to report. In the case of the Ematic eGlide XL Pro 2, there's two: the price and the features. The former is just $219, just a little more than the "reader tablets" already available and considerably less than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (which is a deal in itself). The latter is that it's a 10-inch tablet running Android 4.0 out of the box, something we're always glad to see.

Report: up to 3 million Android tablets made every month in China

Android may still lag behind iOS in the mindshare of consumers when it comes to the tablet space, but according to a report from DigiTimes, its sheer numbers are increasing by a dramatic amount. The supplier news source says that up to three million "white-box" Android tablets are being manufactured every month, up 300% from the same figure last year. Most of these devices are being sold directly with in China, or being shipped off to the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America. At least some are being sold cheaply elsewhere.

Google CEO’s favorite tablets: Motorola and Samsung

Today lifetime Googler Larry Page took over the Chief Executive Officer position at Google. It's been a long time coming for the 39-year old engineer turned entrepreneur - he's adopting the duties from Eric Schmidt, Page and Sergey Brin's business partner, who is keeping his executive chairman duties. When Businessweek asked Page about which Android tablet he prefers, the executive made an answer that shouldn't surprise anyone: he's a fan of Motorola and Samsung's designs.
