There is plenty of talk of low prices when it comes to tablets. It seems many have been searching for the 'perfect' sub $100 tablet and while that most often seems to reflect a 7-inch model, it looks like Root 101 is aiming to launch a low priced 10-inch tablet. They aren't going to hit that sub-$100 price point, however they have gone the crowd funding route and the pledging begins at $169.

Lenovo IdeaTab A-Series tablet lineup expands
Lenovo has announced two new entry-level Android tablets. The models expand upon the IdeaTab A-Series and include the IdeaTab A1000 and the A3000. Both of these models offer similar specs which include a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. With that in mind, the A1000 is priced at $189 and the A3000 is priced at $229.

Wikipad game system set for a June 11 launch
It looks like the Wikipad is finally going to launch. Wikipad Inc. has come forward with a confirmed release date of June 11th. This is for the Wikipad 7 that we saw announced back in February and means availability for those in the US. A further global rollout is expected, however that is planned for sometime later this summer. Anyway, the Wikipad 7 will arrive priced at $249 and with specs to include a 7-inch display and quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor.

Toshiba Excite Pure, Pro and Write Tegra-powered tablets unveiled
Coming out of Computex, Toshiba has unveiled a trio of Tegra powered tablets all of which are sporting 10.1-inch displays and running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The new lineup consists of the Excite Pure, Excite Pro and Excite Write. Availability will begin later this month and expand to additional retailers in July. In the meantime, Toshiba has offered up plenty of spec related details.

Similar to what we saw for Mother's Day, Amazon has begun offering a discount on the Kindle Fire HD lineup for Father's Day. The discount applies to the Kindle Fire HD 7-inch as well as the HD 8.9-inch and 8.9-inch 4G models. Regardless of the model you choose the discount and how to get it remains the same. Basically, those purchasing any Kindle Fire HD can save $20 by entering "DADSFIRE" during the checkout process.

ASUS MeMo Pad HD 7 and FHD 10 tablets unveiled
ASUS has unveiled the MeMo Pad FHD 10 and HD 7 tablets. While both of these tablets are in the same family of devices, they will likely each have unique audiences. The HD 7 is a smaller tablet with a relatively low price point while the FHD 10 is larger and should be a bit more powerful. Similar to the other Computex announcements we have seen from ASUS, this one is also missing some of the finer points.

Samsung gets official with the 8-inch and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 3
Samsung previously announced the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 and as of today they have dropped news of the two larger models. Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab 3 in an 8-inch and a 10.1-inch variety. Of course, this likely comes with little surprise for those who had been following the leaks and rumors. With that in mind, both models are packing dual-core processors and display resolutions of 1280 x 800.

HTC 7-inch Android tablet tipped for a September arrival
There has been some recent chatter about HTC working on a new device. The stories suggested that would be a phablet style device. That is to say something with a display between 5 and 6-inches that could possibly compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note. While those reports still need to be worked out in greater detail, it is looking like HTC may also be planning to release a 7-inch Android tablet later in the year.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 FCC filing reveals AT&T LTE support
Samsung released the WiFi-only Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet in the US market a short while back and judging from this recently discovered FCC filing, it looks like another model may be launching soon. This other is an LTE equipped model and while we have yet to see any release details officially announced, the filing is showing support for the AT&T network. Specifically, the filing details support for the 850 and 1900MHz GSM bands as well as for LTE on bands 2, 4, 5 and 17.

This isn't the first we have heard of the Huawei MediaPad 7 Vogue, however this latest bit of information does suggest a release is coming. Basically, as of today we are getting a look at the FCC filing for the tablet. The catch with waiting for and expecting a release -- Huawei has yet to even offer an official announcement for the tablet.
