NOOK Color to be Sold at Staples

In a move that should strike some as odd, Barnes & Noble has moved to partner with Staples in a sales venture that'll have their famed color touch Android tablet for reading being sold in Staples stores as well as at their Staples.com website. One of the reasons yours truly thinks its odd is that Barnes & Noble has thus far been pushing the device as one you'd carry with you everywhere, but especially whilst interacting with Barnes & Noble's physical locations - the ability to do such things as preview books in the store built in.

That's right race fans, start revving your engines if you haven't already, Honeycomb is getting closer and closer to being released to the public via Google's AOSP repository. We've recently had some unmentionables hit the fan over the fact that Google was holding back the source for Honeycomb, people flipping out over how they though this meant that Android was moving away from open-source. In fact Google was just waiting, watching, thinking, twiddling their thumbs, and the time is soon approaching - a couple bits are already out!

We got to peek at an early build of this wild device by chance back at a jumpin' AT&T party during CTIA 2011, and it wasn't really all that ready to go software-wise, but the hardware was silvery tight and fresh. Now we've got the full lowdown and it's ready to be shared with the whole world.

HTC Pyramid Photos, Rumors, and Facts [Roundup]

It appears the basically everyone in the Android world has their eyes set on one HTC phone or another these past few weeks, and at the forefront of our forward-looking eyes is the HTC Pyramid. Before we continue, let's take a note of the most recent word on this superphone of the future: it appears that it'll be called the HTC Sensation. This is a fabulous name if I do say so myself, and we all approve.

HTC EVO View 4G Back to Android 2.3 Gingerbread

We've been sent a message by HTC asking us to update our notes here about the HTC EVO View 4G. Apparently when we reported yesterday that Sprint's HTC EVO View 4G was to ship with Android 3.0 Honeycomb, they'd jumped the gun on their website, which is where the whole world looks for solid info. Now consider this: what does Gingerbread mean for the world of Android phones? HTC EVO View 4G will certainly be upgraded to Android 3.0 Honeycomb soon after it's released, but does this mean the Gingerbread wave is finally upon us?

Honeycomb Source Held at Bug Finds? illojal Hopes Yes!

Generally there's not much call for us posting something that a developer (or otherwise self-professed Android Pro) says lest it be based in fact or nearly-provable rumor. Occasionally there comes along a person who speaks some factoids that, when pieced together like a puzzle, reveal a whole which basically renders itself so interesting that it cannot be kept silent. Here a fellow by the handle name illojal has a set of bugs he's found inside Honeycomb that together point toward a hard truth.
