popular PC and console game. Developer Sega says it'll release the game next week for £6.99, and presumably its local equivilent currencies. Players can choose from football leagues in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Portugal, Scotland, Spain and Wales. Hey, wait a second...

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Well, a developer going by "DaveRun" has finally gotten the ball rolling in earnest, developing a concept app that mimics the console and PC game's lock-picking interface almost perfectly. It doesn't actually unlock the phone yet since it's at the proof of concept stage, but Dave's getting a lot of support from like-minded users on his post. You can download the non-Market app and install it on any Android phone.
Kairsoft has teased its latest game for the platform, Cafeteria Nipponica, and it's set for release this Thursday. While the company didn't say much about the game itself, their history and the title should be more than enough to get the gist of it. There's no mention of whether the game will be released in English right away, but considering their habit of renaming games for the western market, it seems unlikely.
pick it up in the Google Play Store for the odd price of $1.11, and any device running Eclair or later can join in the fun. That said, you'll probably want something with at least a 1ghz processor to get the best experience.
Temple Run to Android. For weeks you filled our comments section with hundreds of replies (you kiss your mothers with those mouths?). And when Temple Run finally sprinted onto the Google Play store, you didn't disappoint. In just three days the Android version of the game racked up a million downloads. And if the graph for new players on the Google Play Store is accurate, it isn't slowing down any time soon.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play owners: you can go get your Ice Cream Sandwich on right now. Sony has released a beta ROM of Android 4.0 for the gaming-centric handheld, and it'a available to the poor and the gentry on their download site. Sony previously promised to update all its 2011 Xperia phones to Ice Cream Sandwich, and it looks like they're making good on both the promise and the timetable - this beta comes after a similar program for the Xperia Arc S, Neo V and Ray.
Transformer Prime has been SoulCraft, a free action RPG that's limited to the Tegra Zone, where it can show off its high-end graphics. Now developer MobileBits has released the game on the Google Play Store, so anyone with a decently powerful Android device can get in on the action.
Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition for the iPad. For the uninitiated, Baldur's Gate was an attempt to bring the Forgotten Realms tabletop role-playing game (based on Dungeons and Dragons) to the world of video games. Instead of turn-based combat, it relies on a real-time combat system that can be paused at any time. The overhead isometric viewpoint is designed to allow for fantasy settings and elements while keeping the traditional token-based perspective of tabletop gaming. Incidentally, it would also be pretty awesome for a tablet. Think of it as a more structured, paced version of Diablo. This is a long way from a confirmation, but an Android version seems like a natural progression for the small developer. The interface probably wouldn't lend itself towards play on a smartphone (not without some serious work, anyway) but some of the larger Android phones might be able to handle it. The iPad app is scheduled for release this summer, so at the very earliest it would be late fall before Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition might make it to Android. A good way to bring it a little faster might be contacting the developer and distributor (firstname.lastname@example.org) and telling them how much you want it. [via DroidGamers]
Humble Bundle for Android 2, the second collection of DRM-free, pay-what-you-want games that benefit some worthy causes. The second Humble Bundle included four games and a fifth if you donated more than the average. As with the original Humble Bundle for Android, they've added a fifth game: Snuggle Truck, a 2d platforming/driving hybid. In Snuggle Truck you drive your beaten-down pickup through a platforming level, keeping as many stuffed animals safely within the bed as possible. Yeah, we don't get it either.
And you haven't been to Seattle. But just about everyone else knows that Angry Birds Space is now available for download, because they've been playing with zero-gravity avians all weekend. Across iOS and Android platforms, the game has been downloaded an incredible 10 million times already.
