Android Community Weekly: March 18th, 2012

For a week without a major trade show or press event, there was an awful lot of news coming out of the Android world in the last few days. Most of that revolved around various updates to Ice Cream Sandwich for current models and (of course) the ever-elusive Samsung Galaxy S III. There are plenty of other items of note, most importantly our very own ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime giveaway. Check it out to see how you can win one of our two units, or head on over to our sister site SlashGear for two more chances.

Android Community Weekly: January 22, 2012

It's been a surprisingly busy week for Android as 2012 gets started in earnest. Much of the news from Monday and Tuesday came as the tech industry caught its collective breath, after the gadget smorgasbord that was the Consumer Electronics Show. For the best and brightest, be sure to check out or Android CES wrap up. You can see all our coverage of CES 2012, from this week and last, by visiting our CES portal. As for the rest - and that encompasses quite a lot this week - read on below.

CES 2012 Monday mid-day wrap up

In case you've been wondering, yes we are live at CES 2012. Getting near zero sleep and tons of gadgets to play with I'd call it tiring bundles of fun. Today's had plenty of excitement from the world of Android. In case anyone missed it Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Transformer Prime is actually available today -- not the 12th. More details below.

What to expect from CES 2012

The biggest tech show of the year is almost upon us. It's known as Geek Mecha, Nerdvana and (for those who get the somewhat rare experience of working through it) a bloody nuisance. CES 2012 promises to be at lease as big for Android this year as it was last year, and if you're in the market for a new device or just get a kick out of following the news, prepare to wear out your F5 key starting next week. But what shall we find when we get to Las Vegas? Here are our best guesses.

Happy New Year 2012: Android Resolutions

Happy New Year from Android Community! I know many are probably still sleeping off the nights party but for those making resolutions, or already made a few last night we thought we'd chime in with a few from the world of Android. Traditionally people resolve to eat less junk food, stop a bad habit, lose some weight, be nicer to people and more -- we have a few Android-based resolutions of our own.

The 5 Best (and Worst) Android Devices of 2011

Ah, New Year's Day. A time for reflection and resolution, and in many cases, staying up too late in the company of good friends and large amounts of alcohol. Here at Android Community, we like to ring in the new year sitting quietly in wingback chair, staring contemplatively into a roaring fire and guzzling a $5 gallon of brandy while watching the Times Square ball drop on our Android tablets. Before we start getting the old DT's, we'll wrap up the best - and worst - devices of 2011.
