Coming off of what was an invitation-only beta period, Redbox Instant is now available for the pubic. At this point the invitation is no longer needed and signing up requires nothing more than a visit to the Redbox Instant website. Well, that and the action of actually signing up. We should also give the warning right from the beginning, there is a free trial available, however you will need to provide some credit card details in order to get started.

Facebook appears to be pushing a new update for Android users. The catch here, the update is apparently not coming from the Play Store. Based on what we are seeing, this Facebook update is talking about adding some new and seemingly expected features such as being able to change your profile picture as well as being able to download files without notification.

Nuance has recently update the Dragon mobile app. The app, which is dubbed Dragon (Hands-Free Assistant) is available by way of the Google Play Store and is currently sitting at version 3.0.0. Perhaps more important than a new version number though, the update brings several new and seemingly worthwhile features -- all while the app remains free to download and free to use.

A short while back we saw the 'hack' that affected some Samsung devices. The initial reports were shown to affect the Galaxy Note II, however it was later revealed that the same bypass could be done on the Galaxy S III. Snapchat came to the Android platform several months back. At the time the app arrived with support for sharing in text and image format, however video was recently added. The video messaging support was being tested in a private beta, however as of today -- that testing period has come to a close and the updated app (with video) is now available in the Google Play Store.

The latest update for the Google Drive app has landed in the Google Play Store. The update is probably not what could be considered major, however there does seem to be enough to consider it worthwhile. Those updating will see the version number go up to 1.1.592.10 and that will bring some performance improvements and bug fixes as well as two new features.
