CNN app update brings live video

CNN for Android has recently been updated. The app update brings one main feature along with some bug fixes and something that will likely either be loved or hated. This update brings the app up to version 1.3.0 and it remains available by way of the Google Play Store and for devices running Android 2.2 or later. That one main new feature -- live video.

SugarSync 2.0 update brings new features and a new look [Hands-On]

We mentioned back in December when SugarSync released the the v2.0 update in beta form and as of a bit more recently -- that app has graduated from beta and is now available in the Google Play Store. One point worth noting with the version number though, v2.0 refers to SugarSync as a service. The Android app itself has jumped to version 4.0.0. Either way, a SugarSync app update is available.

Google Now users get recipe recommendations

It appears as if Google has rolled out the latest addition for Google Now. The latest goodie is recipe recommendations and of course, comes in addition to the numerous other Google Now changes and updates we have seen over the past few days. This latest is basically just another card option and will work similarly to others. Those using Google to search for recipes should start noticing the new card option in Google Now.

Tweet Lanes Twitter app goes open source

The Tweet Lanes Twitter app originally launched back in July 2012. The interesting part here, the app launched with quite a bit of hype, both from the developer and from the users. The app touted itself as being "Pure Twitter" and "Pure Android" and there was little to disagree with as it was a solid app. The bad news arrived later on when the developer, Chris Lacy, decided to stop active development on the app.

We were given a brief look at the Chameleon Launcher running on smartphones back in early January, however aside from the video, not much was really said in terms of when it could be expected. That has changed as of today though. The folks behind Chameleon have released their latest Kickstarter update and it includes a sneak peek of the launcher running on a Nexus 4 and also a Nexus 7.

Bump update brings Android device to computer transfers

The latest update from Bump has been announced and while this one deals with the web version, it will have some perks for those using the app on an Android device. In short, thanks to this update you will be able to bump files between Android and your computer. The process, as it had been between phones, is just as simple as before and it now works with all the same data including images, contacts and files.

Slacker Radio v4.0 update brings a redesigned Android app [Hands-On]

The Slacker Radio has recently been updated and while we are fans of the new look and new design, we will offer the warning up front -- if you are really loving your currently installed version of the app, you may want to hold off on this update. While the core features of the app seem to have remained the same, the look and feel has been given a complete overhaul. You can get a look at that in the image below, even the app icon has undergone a dramatic change.

SwiftKey Flow Beta app update brings a long list of fixes

The latest update for SwiftKey Flow Beta has arrived. The app, as implied by the name, remains in beta which means those looking to play with the latest will need to download the APK file from the SwiftKey website. This update has brought the app up to version 4.0.0.99 and it can be found in two versions -- one for smartphones and one for tablets. The smartphone version is 5.8MB in size and the tablet version is 6.6MB in size.
