T-Mobile rolls out updates for Galaxy S4, both HTC Ones

T-Mobile is on a roll, pardon the pun. It has just released firmware updates for the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One (M7) and the HTC One M8. Though these updates aren't exactly earth-shattering, they do bring in much needed security fixes, particularly from Android 4.4.4, and one potentially interesting new feature.

Sony declares ‘end-of-life’ for a number of Xperia devices

With all the new devices coming out of the recently concluded IFA 2014, it seems an inevitable counterpoint that some old devices that are part of these manufacturer’s catalogs will get the proverbial axe. In Sony’s case, it recently declared “end-of-life” status to four devices – the Xperia L, M, SP and C. What this technically means is that there will no longer be firmware updates for these devices.

Android 4.4.4 rolling out to Xperia Z devices

Almost 3 months after it rolled out to Sony Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra, Anrdoid KitKat 4.4.4 is finally coming to the other Xperia devices. The Japanese OEM has confirmed through their official Twitter account @SonyMobileNews that they have started updating their older devices including Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z to the latest version of the platform.

Verizon to bring Android 4.4.3 update to HTC One (M7)

Verizon promised subscribers that they would be bringing the latest Android 4.4.3 update to the HTC One (M8) sometime mid August. Well they made an announcement on Twitter through their VP for Product Management, Mo Versi, that they are bringing the update, but not to their current flagship yet, but for the older HTC One (M7).

Samsung to launch Galaxy S DUOS 3, gets KitKat upgrade

Just a little over 10 months after Samsung came out with the Galaxy S Duos 2 – primarily for the South Asian market – it is now coming out with the Galaxy S Duos 3, upgrading the model’s operating system to Android 4.4 KitKat. Unfortunately, nothing much else was upgraded in this model.

T-Mobile HTC One M8 gets 4.4.3 update, Verizon soon

This update has been floating around for a while now, with Verizon actually hinting that their update to Android 4.4.3 might come out today. As it happens, it looks like T-Mobile HTC One M8 users will be the first to get the update, as Verizon says it needs to “re-spin” the update and might delay the rollout.
