Motorola DROID 4 launch date pushed until February 2, 2012
To be honest, this shouldn't be a surprise. The Galaxy Nexus was postponed for more than a month, and we all figured the Motorola DROID 4 wouldn't see a pre-holiday release 3 days before Christmas. It was rumored we may see the device tomorrow, but evidence was still thin. Now we have some concrete info from a Verizon document stating a February 2, 2012 launch date.

Peter Alfonso uploading Android 4.0.3 builds if his page reaches 100 “+1s”
Peter Alfonso, respected AOSP developer, just tweeted that he will "start uploading builds as soon as [his] downloads page reaches 100 '+1's'." Right now he is at 71 - only 29 to go! My guess is he will be pushing out 4.0.3 nighties by the end of the night.

This week in tech news we finally nab ourselves a Verizon branded Galaxy Nexus 4G LTE, review some excellent devices, and see Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) progress through some much needed updates. Monday, by no surprise - Facebook topped Nielsen’s list of most popular Android apps. To be honest, carriers should start including it with devices from now on, as it is probably the first application downloaded from the market by many.

Motorola XOOM graced with Android 4.0.3 build
We just saw Android 4.0.2 officially roll out to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus today, and even confirmed what would be in the Android 4.0.3 update to come. Well it seems the latest AOSP build has been pushed and supports the Nexus S and Motorola XOOM [WiFi]. Even better, the guys at XDA Developers have a bootable version of the ROM up and running for the XOOM.

Target offers Verizon Galaxy Nexus for $189.99 with a new 2-year contract
Now that the Verizon Galaxy Nexus has finally launched, the only thing left to do is look for the best deal. LetsTalk had quite a good deal at 12:00AM PST this morning, with it priced at $154.99 after using a special coupon code. Unfortunately, they oversold it leaving some customers on a 2 week waitlist. This is not an ideal situation to be in, so you may want to act fast on this deal at Target while it's relatively new.

Netflix updated with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich support
Just in time for everyone in the US to start receiving their Galaxy Nexus phones running ICS, Netflix has updated today with full support for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The update has just hit the Android Market and it only shows a few small bug fixes and ICS support. This is just in time because I'm sure many are picking their Nexus up at this very moment.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus LTE Hands-on and Unboxing
When it comes down to Android running on a smartphone, there's a collection of devices out there that bring you a "Pure Google" experience, developed between the manufacturer and Google specifically to bring you the best experience you're going to get with each main version of their operating system - the Galaxy Nexus is next in line in this family line, and here in the Verizon version we get our first official USA glimpse of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The first version of this device was released a few weeks ago internationally, this version just dropping today at Verizon with 4G LTE capabilities and a couple tiny modifications to the operating system in the form of apps placed there by Verizon. In our first look here, we'll explore how the device feels to handle, some initial benchmarks, and some photo and video examples so you can see if you'll truly want to be running down to your local Verizon store to snatch one up.

Google finally advertises their Samsung Galaxy Nexus on TV with two new commercials
The only other commercial of a "Nexus" device seen so far was of the Nexus S 4G, and it wasn't even sponsored by Google. Well, that changes soon with a couple cleverly funny commercials made by the manufacturer. The first commercial embedded below is my favorite - a child tries unlocking his father's Galaxy Nexus using the face unlock feature by making faces towards the Nexus. When all fails, he hopelessly hands the device over to his dad and finally gets to use the device. We all saw a commercial like this coming, and it was produced perfectly.

Android 4.0 hitting Archos G9 tablets in Q1 2012
Both Archos G9 tablets should see Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in Q1 of next year. A successful update to ICS will not only make Archos look like an even more reliable manufacturer, but also show its customers they want their products to be the best they can be. Android 4.0 will bring a wealth of UI changes and help the G9 series compete with other tablets after the holidays.

We've finally finished a couple excellent reviews, have a better understanding of whats been holding up the Galaxy Nexus, and learned of some cool new accessories for your new (or older) device! The first review definitely worth taking a look at is of the ASUS Transformer Prime. Cory Gunther put it to the test through some rigorous benchmark tests and great video demonstrations. To date, it has performed better than any current Android tablet on the market. Next up, Michael Crider posted a review of the new Nitro HD by LG. It turned out to have quite a crisp IPS LCD display, but turned out to be a quite bland device in general.
