Samsung to add Smart Scroll and Smart Pause features with Android 4.2.1

It appears as if Samsung will be releasing a few new features in an upcoming update. The features are Smart Scroll and Smart Pause, a few that have been talked about recently. The key here, while these were believed to be coming with the release of the Galaxy S IV -- it now looks like they will be available for at least one other Samsung device.

Galaxy S III Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean leaks – lockscreen widgets and all

Our first look at Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean running on a Samsung Galaxy S III has surfaced today over on SamMobile, and we're getting a look at what Sammy has planned regarding all the tweaks and changes to Jelly Bean. From lockscreen widgets, expandable notifications, and of course the new quick settings menu are all on board. Obviously with a little TouchWiz included.

Google details everything new that arrived with Android 4.2

Google has recently updated their Jelly Bean page. This is the page that talks about Android 4.2 as a whole, however this update has added details on everything that has arrived new since Android 4.1. Needless to say, this page takes away the guessing and just breaks it all down. To begin with, Google describes 4.2 as bringing the speed and simplicity of Android 4.1 with new features to includes Photo Sphere, a redesigned camera app, new Gesture Typing keyboard, Google Now (with new cards) and more.

Google releases updated Android 4.2.1 code into the AOSP

Google originally released the Android 4.2.1 code into the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) back in late-November and coming a bit more recently, it looks like they have since dropped in some updated code. And by updated, we mean two newly tagged files. The files are showing as android-4.2.1_r1.1 and android-4.2.1_r1.2.

Google drops Android 4.2.1 factory images for Nexus 4, 7, and more

We knew this was coming, but this morning it's finally here. After Google started pushing out Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean to multiple devices, then followed it up by pushing the newest version of Android to AOSP, we now have factory images for almost all of the recent Nexus devices. Today was a big day for the Nexus family. Google started pushing out a quick update to Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean for all their major devices. Earlier this morning we saw the update arrive for the Nexus 4 and 10, followed by the Nexus 7 this evening. New reports are now rolling in that Google's pushing the same to their HSPA+ (takju) Galaxy Nexus.

Earlier this morning the folks from Google started pushing out a quick update to Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. The update was initially only rolling out to the LG Nexus 4 and the Nexus 10, but now the Nexus 7 can also enjoy the latest and greatest from Google. Now we're just waiting for the same update to arrive for the HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus, which should be any time now.
