HTC and AT&T probably delivered some of that emotion to users of its HTC One VX when it rolled out a very significant update over the weekend.
Galaxy S III originally began back in December of last year. The initial rollout was by way of Kies and the OTA came available a month later. While that update brought the handset up to Android 4.1.1, it didn't include the Samsung Premium Suite portion of the update. Well, flash forward till the present day and there is finally word of when that will be available.
AT&T launched the Pantech Discover back in January. The handset dropped as a budget-friendly device and while the specs were more than acceptable for the $50 purchase price, there was the bit about Ice Cream Sandwich that was hard to overlook. With Android updates always uncertain, we couldn't help wondering when or if the Discover would get an update.
C Spire Wireless originally updated the Samsung Galaxy S III to Jelly Bean back in March. That update brought the device to Android 4.1.2 and while that was likely welcomed by C Spire users -- there was something missing. The update that arrived in March did not contain the Premium Suite side of the update that was made available to Galaxy S III users with other carriers.
AT&T has begun rolling out another Jelly Bean update and this time around the lucky users are the ones sporting a Pantech Flex. The update is bringing Android 4.1.2 and the carrier has the delivery coming over-the-air. We suspect those with a Flex will be anxious, however AT&T has said you will be alerted by way of a text message when the update is ready for your device.
began receiving Jelly Bean yesterday, however while we had been seeing reports from users, we hadn't seen a changelog with all the specifics of the update. With that in mind, that changelog has since been posted by Samsung and it looks like it contains all the expected features.
T-Mobile has announced the latest software update for the Samsung Galaxy S III. The update process is set to begin today and will be arriving as Android 4.1.2 and with features to include multi-window. Those carrying a T-Mobile branded Galaxy S III will be able to get the update over-the-air or using Kies. On that note, the update is on the larger side so if you are taking the over-the-air approach -- you may want to make sure you are on WiFi before beginning.
Jelly Bean began rolling out for T-Mobile users with an LG Optimus L9 a few weeks earlier. As of today however, that update has since been placed on pause. The details are coming by way of T-Mobile, who have said the update was placed on pause by LG. The silver lining here is the use of the word pause. Of course, we suspect those still rocking Ice Cream Sandwich may be a bit disappointed.
Android 4.1.2. Earlier in the day we saw details about the Verizon branded Galaxy Note II update and now we have details of the AT&T branded Galaxy Note (i717). The AT&T Galaxy Note update will be available beginning on May 3, 2013, however those looking for the update should know that it will not be coming over-the-air.
