Google TV 2.0 update hitting Sony devices now, Logitech Revue coming soon

We have seen plenty of the new and improved Google TV (Android 3.1 Honeycomb) in the news lately and users have been patiently awaiting this update. Today it appears Sony Google TV hardware has finally started to receive the over the air update to Google TV 2.0 just like we expected. Get ready for some Honeycomb GTV users.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 heads to T-Mobile

In more Galaxy Tab news today T-Mobile has confirmed they will indeed carry the Galaxy Tab 10.1 according to this tweet. In case you missed it the Tab hit the FCC earlier this month with T-Mobile 4G bands so we had a feeling this was coming, and now its been confirmed although that is all T-Mobile had to say.

Samsung Officially Announces Galaxy Tab 8.9, and Galaxy Players coming in October

Samsung has just announced full pricing and retail availability for three new Android devices today. Those being the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 as well as the Galaxy Player 5.0 and 4.0 media devices. We've seen plenty of these over the past few weeks as well as full Tab 8.9 pre-order information. Today we have full details and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 will be available starting October 2nd.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with 4G LTE Update rolling out now

Verizon Wireless announced early last week that they were getting ready to push an OTA update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Verizon 4G LTE. I'm happy to report that users should be seeing this update hitting their Galaxy Tab devices starting today. A few users have already reported the update hitting their tab and we've got some screenshots and details after the break.

Samsung and Verizon are all prepped to start the OTA (over the air) update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Verizon 4G LTE (see our review) this week. Sadly the update appears to only be a very minor one that should fix some 4G LTE connectivity issues and a few other bugs.

For those that passed on a few of the other tablet deals in hopes for something better this may finally be for you. In what is one of the best prices I've seen for the Galaxy Tab yet DailySteals has the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10 Wi-Fi 16GB model for $150 off retail, asking just $349. The Transformer and Acer A500 might be nice but nothing compares to the Galaxy Tab at the moment if you ask me.

DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket App Now available for Android Honeycomb

With the NFL finally getting started this week along with plenty of teams seeing the light (or dark), DirecTV has introduced their own NFL Sunday Ticket app specifically for Android Honeycomb tablets. They have long had a Sunday Ticket app, but this is for Android 3.1 and up tablets only and will be taking advantage of the full 10.1" display similar to the recently released NFL 2011 for Honeycomb by the NFL.

Lenovo ThinkPad Honeycomb Tablet on sale today for $499

All flavors of the new Lenovo ThinkPad tablet are now for sale today. We first heard about these tablets back in June and we later saw the press images leaked in July. Today they are offering both the Wi-Fi and 3G models of the business minded ThinkPad on their website starting at just $499.

T-Mobile LG G-Slate 3.1 Honeycomb Update Brings a Locked Bootloader

Sadly we have some bad news for you modders that happen to own the LG G-Slate. While recent devices like the G2x, Optimus 3D and even the G-Slate itself have shipped with unlocked bootloaders and were easy to hack, root, and mod. It appears LG has shifted positions and will now start locking bootloaders, a change we are not thrilled to see that is for sure.

ASUS Transformer 2 May Be First Kal-El Quad Core Tablet

We have heard a few different things about the next generation Transformer and even ASUS's own chairman has said to expect something great and impressive. According to some latest reports we might be even more impressed than we originally thought. We are now hearing the Transformer 2 may in fact be the first NVIDIA Kal-El Quad-core tablet to hit the streets come this holiday season.
