Motorola DROID R2-D2 Now Only $99.99
Remember the Star Wars DROID R2-D2? The device brought to market for the "ultra-fans" has just seen a price drop as Verizon navigates away from offering up online rebates. The Motorola DROID R2-D2 has now been cut to $99.99 with a 2-year agreement.

Motorola MT716 Brings the Droid and Cliq Together
One hot mama! Motorola's new MT716  is silver, sleek, and absolutely stunning! Its similarity, at first-glance, to the Droid and Droid 2, is apparent, but this one's fully equipped, with even better specs. This baby's got an 8MP camera, with dual LED flash and takes 720P video! It has loads of other amazing features too, like 512 MB of RAM-now who doesn't want that much RAM in their pocket? Let's not forget the front-facing camera, or the full QWERTY keyboard, with a nice trackpad. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it is... for now.  This little beauty is a Chinese phone, that runs on a special Android OS port, called oPhone, so there's no telling when (or if) this little magical Motorola device will be rolling out across the nation. But, isn't the anticipation exciting? [via Droid-life]

DROID R2-D2 Unboxing and Hands-on [Update: videos]
"The Force is strong with this one"; "This could be the DROID you're looking for"; "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed." The Star Wars clichés almost write themselves when it comes to Verizon's new DROID R2-D2 by Motorola special edition so stand well back and clutch your beloved DVD box set close. Although creating limited editions of smartphones isn't new, it's rare that they prompt the level of interest this Star Wars model has; Verizon and Motorola have obviously discovered a rich seam of Android-loving Star Wars crossover fanatics.

Droid Eris has been retired, Droid Incredible next?
Android 2.1 may be the last official update to the Eris from Verizon. They have decided to end support of the Eris, it was the launch partner of the original Droid. It’s still possible that HTC may choose to still support the handset but that is highly unlikely. If you want 2.2 on Eris you might want to root it or be satisfied with 2.1.

Sony Android-Based Walkman Pictures
We finally can get a good look at the latest Android offering from Sony. This time around, they are introducing a new Walkman, these new pictures are going to be used in an upcoming promotion for the device. In the past we’ve only seen renders and a quick blurry shot. It’s a nice looking compact media player, this should be a good one.

RockPlayerBase player, AVI, MKV, DIVX and RMVB for Android
Since Android was introduced, there have been many complaints about its lack of .avi and .divx playback. Since then there has been a few phones with .divx capabilities but there still was no player for the rest of us. The RockPlayerBase allows any Android 2.1 handset to playback XviD, DivX, Mkv and even RMVB files. .

Droid 2 Finally Exposed – Video
Up until now all we’ve seen of the droid 2 is a blurry picture that didn’t even show the entire front of the device. Now we finally get a clear look at the full handset. There’s even a video of the boot screen and you can clearly see that it has a full QWERTY keyboard. It looks almost identical to the original droid that we all know and love.

10-inch Android Tablet by Malata SMB-A1011 – Video
Yes, it’s that time of day again. It’s time for another Android tablet that we will not see in stores for quite some time. This is a pretty impressive piece of work though. When it does hit, I see a few people snagging this one up.  Malata has introduced a 10-inch tablet, it’s called the SMB-A1011.

Roger’s Liquid E, Reviewed by Slashgear
While we wait for our first Acer Android Device our friends in Canada now have the Liquid E. this is second handset in Acer’s Liquid series and it looks almost identical its predecessor. There has been a few welcome additions, first of which is the Snapdragon processor. Like the original Liquid, the Liquid E CPU is also under clocked to 768, so you dont get to enjoy the full befits of the 1GHZ clock speed.
