Samsung Infuse 4G headed to Rogers and its running 2.3 Gingerbread

The Samsung Infuse 4G was recently released at an event in NYC back in May and we were there for some hands-on. If you don't recall the Infuse 4G is a Galaxy S device featuring a monster 4.5" AMOLED Plus display. So basically the screen not only looks amazing but its also huge. This is the largest screen to have a Samsung Super AMOLED Plus display and it was launched on AT&T with a 1.2 Ghz CPU and Android 2.2 FroYo. New information is showing the Infuse 4G launching on Rogers will a little surprise.

This is the first Motorola device offered by Virgin Mobile and they look to be pushing for more high end phones on their pre-paid network with the launch of this phone. Did I mention it runs stock Android 2.2 Froyo with no Moto Blur.

Motorola TITANIUM Announced

What follows is a mightily little device that makes up what it lacks in processor speed and Android up-to-datedness with a rather strong punch in the hardware. What this phone represents is the successor to the Motorola i1, this little monster coming out as an iDEN device, surprisingly stocked with the now-several-gen-old Android 2.1 Eclair, and a full QUERTY keyboard below a 3.1-inch touchscreen display. But why is this phone called the TITANIUM? Why it's because it meets Military Specification 810G for dust, shock, vibration, low pressure, solar radiation, high temperature and low temperature of course!

Motorola sends the XT316 to FCC

Motorola has send their XT316 Smartphone to the FCC. The QWERTY Candybar model looks to be a solid option for BlackBerry users looking to transition to the Android platform. However, according to sources, the XT316 isn't meant for the US, as it's looking to head to the Chinese market in it's initial launch. The world phone is being tested for WCDMA bands 850 and 2100, but offers no real support for US 3G networks.

Screen capture comes to the LG Optimus and G2X

One thing that has been missing from the Android platform has been a fairly simply method to do screen captures. With the iPhone, for example, users only need to hold down the sleep button while clicking the hold button. Do it right and you're taking a picture of your screen. That function has been missing from the Android platform and LG has decided to do something about it with the Optimus and G2X.

Samsung Fascinate users report Froyo update problems and solutions

Samsung Fascinate users are complaining of errors after receiving the OTA update of OS 2.2 Froyo. The error message that users are receiving is "UPDATE FAILED or INCOMPLETE. reason: IP_PREVIOUS_UPDATE_FAILED" and appears to be affecting users with a Fascinate that is either rooted, has a previous update that failed to complete, or has a corrupted system directory. Users have tried everything from a hard reset to removing the battery with no help in clearing the error. But thanks to a smart Fascinate user, there's a workaround.
