Motorola Cliq Gets Android 2.1 Earlier Than Planned

Apparently, the Motorola Cliq has received Android 2.1. No, not officially (we wish), but as a leaked ROM. According to an anonymous source, there's a leaked ROM that appears to be an official T-Mobile 2.1 variant. Unfortunately, there's still no word on when the final OTA will be ready to go, but we're still leaning towards August.

Samsung YP-MB2 Details Leak Again

There's lots of information about the Samsung YP-MB2 that has already leaked out; now Korean site DDaily claims to have a few more details. We do know that Samsung YP-MB2 will be similar to Samsung Galaxy, except that the camera will likely be just 3MP on the YP-MB2.

Samsung Vibrant for T-Mobile Unboxed and Compared to AT&T’s Captivate

Android Police have unboxed the Samsung Vibrant, and they've even managed to compare it to the Samsung Captivate. Another device in the Galaxy S lineage, launching on AT&T. As we are all already aware, there are many similarities between both devices. They both have a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, and mostly the same specifications. But, in the end, the Vibrant seems more complete and solid than the Captivate, according to the folks behind the unboxing.

T-Mobile Will Launch HTC Vision with HSPA+ In September

According to some new rumors, the HTC Vision is launching this September at the same time as the HTC Vanguard. Also, reports suggest that the Vision will be T-Mobile's first HSPA+ device. HSPA+ basically means that the phone is going to be able to access data even faster than T-Mobile customers already can.

Acer’s First Android Device Gets Android 2.1 Upgrade

The Liquid A1 is the first Android phone made by Acer in 2009. It launched with Android 1.6 but now an update is available to bring it out of the Dark Ages and into the Light. The update is the usual OTA variety, so if you're one of the folks out there with the device, hopefully you'll be receiving the notification soon enough.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 receives new software update

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 now has a new firmware update. This latest update helps to improve general performance, speed and responsiveness, especially in messaging and the camera's Ul. It also makes it easier to back-up and restore your applications. Lastly, in selected markets, PlayNow now features premium applications and games.

Droid Eris has been retired, Droid Incredible next?

Android 2.1 may be the last official update to the Eris from Verizon. They have decided to end support of the Eris, it was the launch partner of the original Droid. It’s still possible that HTC may choose to still support the handset but that is highly unlikely. If you want 2.2 on Eris you might want to root it or be satisfied with 2.1.

T-Mobile UK now has the HTC Wildfire

Vodafone now has some competition for potential Wildfire customers. T-Mobile UK now carries this compact version of the Nexus One. There’s even a plan that allows you to obtain this device free of charge.

Samsung Acclaim for US Cellular Hitting Shelves on July 9th

The Samsung Acclaim, an Android slider phone will be released July the 9th. Not much information has been released by US Celluar on the specs or an Android version. The most info. floating about on the web is it has a 3.2 inch HVGA screen and a stock Eclair installation.
