Broadcom makes a bunch of the chips that are found inside the smartphones we know and love. The company has announced a new chip for the inside of Android devices that promises to be cheap and provide advanced graphics. The new 3G baseband processor has an ARM Cortex A9 processor inside and is aimed at mass-market handsets.

Android fans looking for a new MP3 player with a nice big touchscreen and the Android OS onboard will want to check out the new Cowon D3 that has just landed for pre-order in the UK. The player looks more like a smartphone than an MP3 player to me and has a big 3.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 800 x 480.

Take a peek at this FCC application that's just passed, it's got all the markings of a possible next wave version of the original, and not much to hold us back from such a conclusion. The original T-Mobile Vibrant had the model number SGH-T959, this new one is dubbed SGH-T959V. It's a Samsung device, and it has support for AWS - just what a T-Mobile handset would need to access their 3G / 4G network.

Millennial Media has offered up its latest round of stats for the mobile phone market covering December of 2010. The latest round of numbers shows that Android devices occupy 16 of the top 30 spots for the most popular devices. That number was up from 11 of the most popular devices in November.

The HTC HD2 smartphone originally came with Windows Mobile 6.5 onboard, though it was spied on a few occasions running Windows Phone 7. I would bet that there are bunches of people out there that wish they had purchased an Android device instead of Windows Mobile. The app sounded cool, but it isn’t intended to allow players to actually play any games. The point of the app is to keep you updated with the online status of your pals and to give you information on all the games on the PlayStation platform among other things.

New Potato Technologies has announced a new product for Android users. The new product is called the TuneLink Auto for Android and it is a wireless Bluetooth to FM and direct connection in-car audio solution for Android devices. The FM transmitter and Bluetooth potion of the system is a DC adapter that plugs into your car power port.
