LG confirms Optimus LTE heading to Bell in Canada

Late last month we mentioned that the Optimus LTE smartphone from LG was heading to Canada and would be landing on Bell. At the time, the thought was that the smartphone would be called the eye when it hit Bell. LG has confirmed that the Optimus LTE will be hitting Bell in Canada officially, but offers no firm launch date.

Try this little factoid on for size, the Galaxy S and S II have racked up total combined sales of 30 million units globally. The S II is the flagship smartphone from Samsung and sales continue to grow.

Parrot Asteroid Android car stereo gets price and launch date

Back during January when CES was in full swing, one of the stranger Android products we ran across was the Parrot Asteroid Android-powered car stereo. We had some of the details back in January, but the real things we wanted to know like when it would land and how much it would cost were a mystery until now. Parrot has now announced the pricing and the launch date for the Asteroid.

KDDI creates Android app that measures user’s brainwaves with a headset

KDDI R&D laboratories in Japan has created integration between an Android smartphone and neural science that uses a headband with sensors to monitor brainwaves. The idea is that the app will allow the user to measure their concentration during things like gaming and meditation. The headband has small sensors inside that detect brain neural activity.

AndyPad and AndyPad Pro get brief hands-on treatment

Paul over at Andoriod.modaco.com got to spend a bit of time playing hands-on with the new AndyPad and AndyPad Pro. The standard AndyPad will land for £129 and the AndyPad Pro is pegged at £169. Both of those prices include shipping. We already know the hardware details on the Android tablets with each getting Rock Chip 1.2Ghz processors, 512MB of RAM, and mini HDMI outputs along with microUSB and 3.5mm headphone ports.

DROID X2 set for May 26 launch

We mentioned just yesterday that the DROID X2 dummy devices were turning up hinting at a launch soon. The launch now has a specific day for us to look forward to. The smartphone will land on May 26, almost exactly two weeks from today. This smartphone was originally expected to land today, but was delayed. This will be the first dual-core Tegra 2 Android smartphone on the Verizon network.

Samsung Reveals SENS-240 and Hybrid Tablet Navigation Tablet

Samsung has a large line of Android smartphones and tablets that have turned out to be quite popular with Android users. The company has unveiled a new product today called the Hybrid Tablet with the SENS-240. The devices are made to work in coordination with one of the Samsung Android smartphones or tablets. The SENS-240 is a car navigation system that can connect to a normal phone using Bluetooth.

IN Media unveils new Tablet PC 7 packing Android

IN Media has announced that it has a new tablet PC that will be heading to market soon if all goes well. The company doesn't offer up an image of the new tablet for us to check out, but it does give most of the specs of the tablet though.

LG Optimus 3D gets official at MWC 2011

LG went all official with Optimus 3D at MWC 2011 today. The smartphone looks cool and it is 3D capable and has a dual lens 5MP camera on the back that can record 3D video. The smartphone runs a 1GHz OMAP4 processor and the display can show the 3D video recorded without the need for glasses.

Motorola Pro Android smartphone breaks cover at MWC 2011

Motorola is making some announcements at MWC 2011 already and the first new device that the company is trotting out at the show is the Motorola Pro. The smartphone is aimed at the business user, but I would image that some consumers will find the Android offering appealing as well.
