Up until now all we’ve seen of the droid 2 is a blurry picture that didn’t even show the entire front of the device. Now we finally get a clear look at the full handset. There’s even a video of the boot screen and you can clearly see that it has a full QWERTY keyboard. It looks almost identical to the original droid that we all know and love.
Boost Mobile has officially announced the Motorola i1. This Android powered handset will be available on June 2oth. Boost Mobile is a contract less prepaid wireless company, this will be the first Android handset on such a company.
Samsung is doing a great job with the promotion of this device. Promotional boxes were sent out a few days ago now the promo site is live. There isn’t much information on this page but there is a place for you to sign up to be notified on when it will be available and to have more information sent to you directly.
First it was the Aria then the Liberty now the Intruder could be making its way to AT&T. Are these 3 HTC devices the same? Nobody knows at this point, AT&T could be on an all out Android assault now that they are done with the iPhone presentation.
This year’s Computex featured a lot of exciting new things in the world of Android. QuickBoot by Ubiquitous aims to shorten the time it takes to boot up Android to a fraction of the current time. It usually takes 30 seconds of more to for Android to boot up, this video has a device that does it in 1 second.
Before 2.2 makes its way to Android phones “officially” it has been ported to the iPhone. Now you can have Froyo on your Droid, Nexus One and on the iPhone. This is a work in progress, it has a few bugs that need to be worked out.
Don’t be alarmed, the title is similar to the last but it isn’t the same story (not exactly). This is another Android 1.6 device by Acer that has been recently announced at this year’s Computex. This version shares a few things in common with the E130 as you will see later.
The first thing that jumps out about this phone is its BlackBerry like form factor. This device will surely make traditional BB users feel right at home (with the exception of being an Android device). This phone is made by Acer and is called the beTouch E130.
The HTC EVO isn’t out yet and there’s already a few custom ROM’s for it. This time around, Froyo has been customized to run on the EVO. So if you have one now or are picking on up, you can have Android 2.2 loaded a running on your handset.
The first of many Android MID’s from Dell will be available next month. For a small fee of $500 the Dell Streak can be yours and you will not be tied down to any carrier. By the end of next month you will be able to purchase this device directly from Dell.com with no strings attached.
