Kindle for Android adds Word Wise, flash cards, popular highlights

There may be a lot of new players cropping up in the market, but for a lot of ebook readers, Amazon's Kindle is still their first love. The new update to the reading app for the Android platform brings more features like Word Wise (a popular feature on their ebook reader), flash cards (important for students), plus a host of other additions that would make reading (or planning to read) even easier and more enjoyable.

Amazon accidentally leaks unlimited ebook subscription

Amazon might once again be preparing to upset the fragile balance in the ebook publishing and distribution realm. An Amazon Kindle Unlimited web page was mistakenly published and promptly taken down, but not before it was saved for posterity by Google's almighty cache, giving us a sneak peek at what could be the retailer's "read all you can" service, for only $9.99 a month.

Amazon snatches up Comixology

It might seem like something long over due but also something that might worry a few. Amazon has just acquired popular digital comics distributor Comixology to expand its dominion even further into the realm of digital comics.

Everything from organization to accessibility has been improved, and we will now get the option to rate a book before we leave. There is also one more really interesting feature Amazon is touting, making just about any book truly yours.

Amazon updates Android Appstore interface

Amazon has updated their Android Appstore to reflect their recent OS changes, bringing the darker theme and Mojito UI in. It still doesn’t follow the newer Android UI or design standards, but that’s not the point for Amazon. Like the rest of what they use Android for, Amazon has made it their own.
