Smartwatches appear to have found a niche following, but that doesn't seem to have stopped newcomers from trying to make their presence known. There is the Pebble as well as Samsung Galaxy Gear, Qualcomm Toq and at least a handful of others -- both available and in development. Not to mention, the ones that are still in rumor. Anyway, it looks as if ZTE is prepping a smartwatch of their own.
ZTE officially unveiled the nubia Z5S and Z5S mini at an event earlier in the month. ZTE offered details on the specs and pricing at the time and while we had a good idea of how the phones would perform based on the hardware, some still prefer to see the benchmarks so they can better compare to other devices. In this case, it looks like benchmarks for the nubia Z5S mini have recently surfaced.
ZTE recently announced the nubia Z5S and Z5S mini, however it looks like there are still some unannounced nubia branded devices. An image of the nubia Z7 has leaked and well, it appears as if ZTE is venturing into the world of oversized smartphones. Details of the handset point towards it arriving with a 6.44-inch 1080p display.
ZTE nubia Z5S had been leaking. Those early leaks were suggesting a handset with a 5-inch display and Snapdragon 800 processor. And well, it looks like that is what ZTE has unveiled. Or, at least part of what ZTE has unveiled. You see, along with the 5-inch nubia Z5S, there was also word of the nubia Z5S mini with a not-so-mini 4.7-inch display.
ZTE won't be waiting for the end of the year to to finally take off the veils from its upcoming high-end smartphone as previously speculated. The Chinese company will, instead, be announcing the ZTE nubia 5S at a press event scheduled next week, on November 19 to be precise.
ZTE may have only recently begun shipping the nubia 5 and Grand S in the US market, however those two handsets were originally unveiled much earlier in the year. In fact, we first got a look at both back in January, during CES. Given these have both been around for nearly a year at this point, word of a follow-up device doesn't come as much of a surprise.
Blade Q branded devices we saw ZTE announce last week, they have followed up this week with an announcement for another variant of the Grand S. In this case, ZTE has announced the Grand S Flex and it looks like this one will be heading to Europe. ZTE is touting this handset as having "clean and simple lines" that are then "combined with an ultra-thin 8.9mm touch screen."
ZTE has announced the latest Blade branded handsets. Or in this case, the ZTE Blade Q lineup, which include three different models. There is the Blade Q Mini, Blade Q and Blade Q Maxi which will be arriving with a 4-inch, 4.5-inch and 5.0-inch display respectively. For now, it looks like these will be heading to Europe, however the release details remain on the lighter side.
Cricket Wireless has announced another ZTE handset. In this case the device is the ZTE Source, which will be coming available later this week. Cricket will have the Source available beginning on October 20th and with a contract-free price of $219.99. This phone has a 4.5-inch display and will be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with 4G LTE connectivity.
