T-Mobile, MetroPCS merger gains FCC approval
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved the merger between T-Mobile and MetroPCS. This news comes in follow-up to the thumbs up that we recently saw coming from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and ahead of the shareholder vote. MetroPCS has a shareholder meeting schooled for April 12 and have already pushed for approval noting that if the stockholders were to vote against, they could make “no assurance that MetroPCS will be able to deliver the same or better stockholder value.”

The folks from Sony and T-Mobile in the Czech Republic sure know how to launch a flagship smartphone. We all know the impressive Xperia Z phone is waterproof, but a T-Mobile store in CZ took this even further and hired a Supermodel to help show off the capability. How exactly? By having a few supermodels jump into a shower while using the device.

T-Mobile gets even, fires back at AT&T with their own attack ads
In case you haven't seen the AT&T advertisements that have been making the rounds in magazines and newspapers around the USA the past few weeks, they aren't too nice. They are attacking T-Mobile head on as we reported here, but this week T-Mobile is firing back and getting even. It looks like the gloves are off and this battle will be getting down and dirty.

T-Mobile layoffs expected ahead of MetroPCS merger
News of the T-Mobile and MetroPCS acquisition first came to light back in October and it was just yesterday when we learned the Department of Justice had given their approval. There is more to the approval process though. We still need word from the Federal Communications Commision (FCC) and Committee on Foreign Investment. Putting that aside for a moment -- we now have word of potential layoffs.

T-Mobile, MetroPCS merger gets a Department of Justice thumbs up
We learned that T-Mobile and MetroPCS were planning to join forces back in October 2012. Of course, planning to join forces and actually being able to do so are two different things. You know, with all those government approvals and such. Well, as of today that process is one step closer to becoming a reality as they have received approval from the Department of Justice (DOJ).

T-Mobile Galaxy S III LTE visits with the FCC
We suspect most Samsung fans are waiting for the Galaxy S IV announcement, which will be happening on March 14. But while we wait for that to happen, it looks like one US carrier still has some plans with the Galaxy S III. That carrier is T-Mobile and it is looking like the LTE capable Galaxy S III is indeed going to be released soon.

Huawei Prism II leaks for T-Mobile
T-Mobile currently has the Huawei Prism as a no-annual contract device and assuming this latest leak proves accurate -- the carrier will soon be launching the follow up device. The recent leak is showing the Huawei U8686, which will launch with T-Mobile as the Prism II. We have yet to see if this will land in the post-paid or pre-paid lineup, however we expect that it will be low priced either way.

AT&T takes a shot at T-Mobile in latest ad campaign
Some new ad campaign material has surfaced showing the folks from AT&T throwing a few hard left hooks and punches to T-Mobile. It wasn't very long ago that these two nationwide carriers were being all friendly, as they tried to get a deal done and merge. Sadly now that the merger won't ever be happening AT&T is looking for a fight and has something to prove.
