T-Mobile Moto X finally gets a taste of Android 4.4.4

The Moto X is getting a lot of love these days. Its Verizon variant is expected to arrive this September 26 and the Moto Maker site became available in the UK, Germany, and France a couple of weeks ago. Motorola is even all out with the promotion of the new Android smartphone, releasing three new Moto X ads on YouTube at once and four new apps on the Google Play Store. Pre-order started only last week and those with .edu email are given Moto X discounts. All these news make this new-gen phone a highly anticipated one.

T-Mobile rolls out updates for Galaxy S4, both HTC Ones

T-Mobile is on a roll, pardon the pun. It has just released firmware updates for the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One (M7) and the HTC One M8. Though these updates aren't exactly earth-shattering, they do bring in much needed security fixes, particularly from Android 4.4.4, and one potentially interesting new feature.

T-Mobile partners with Gogo to bring in-flight text and voicemail

If you’re on a plane to another state and you suddenly remembered a very important message you have to send to your mother, you have to wait until the plane lands to be able to tell her to unplug the iron you left on in your room. But if your carrier is T-Mobile, you don’t have to wait anymore (or else your house might catch on fire or something.). The “un-carrier” has partnered with Gogo, an aero-communications service provider, so their subscribers can enjoy in-flight texting and voice messaging.

T-Mobile now offering free WiFi calls for subscribers

Someone predicted a few years back that pretty soon, mobile carriers would be obsolete since people will be doing all their messaging and calling through the Internet. Well, carriers are still here but one of them has realized that the second part of that prediction has already come true and so they are slowly adapting their business model to that scenario. T-Mobile is now flaunting that all their subscribers (given their phones have the capability to do so) will now be able to do free WiFi calling.

T-Mobile promises more for smartphone trade-ins

T-Mobile has announced that it will be guaranteeing that people who bring their old devices to its network for trade-in will get more money than any other carrier offers. T-Mobile is promising to beat the money that other major carriers like AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon offer.

T-Mobile to bring Sony Xperia Z3 to US by end of 2014

No matter how excellent a smartphone is, if any of the US carriers don’t make them available, then residents won’t be able to experience the device. That has been one of the problems of Japanese OEM Sony as they have not experienced much support from local carriers in the region. But now T-Mobile has confirmed that they will be carrying the latest flagship of Sony, the Xperia Z3, which was recently launched before the start of IFA 2014 in Berlin.
