Welcome to another edition of Android Community Weekly! This past Sunday some press photos surfaced with a breaking leak to the Asus Padphone. Later on, as it becomes official, the group AlwaysInnovating accused Asus of copyright infringement. Notion Ink Adam sales open again, and this time the promise of Honeycomb June 27 is there to sweeten the deal.

Nexus S Beats Out Dual-Core Devices for Top Spot in Performance Benchmarks with Trinity and CM7
Behold, the once and still king of numbers, Nexus S. The following winning spots have been achieved by our very own forum manager Simms22 and are achieved by combining a Samsung Nexus S device with the latest version of CyanogenMod 7 and the kernel currently known as Trinity 1.544Ghz. What this kernel has done in combination with CyanogenMod 7 is bump the effectiveness of the Nexus S, a phone that, mind you, only has a single core, up to benchmarks that are beyond even the greatest dual-core scores of today. This is big business, and if I do say so myself, chip manufacturers need to put their game faces on and start steppin.

Google Wallet Demo shown on Nexus S 4G
Google Wallet looks to bring some exciting changes to the way we all purchase items online, and in person. The steps for Google Wallet setup are quite simple, says Google on May the 26th in New York: Attach your Wallet, Enter your Pin, Add your Credit Card, and lock. We originally mentioned Google Wallet this morning and you can read that here. For even more details about Google Wallet check out this post. They have demoed Google Wallet today on Sprint's Nexus S 4G.

NFC-Laden Nexus S 4G to Get Some Action
Did you know that the Nexus S (both in its original form and its newer 4G state on Sprint) is fully ready to work with NFC mobile payments? Google knows, they built it. Sprint knows, they're apparently working on a deal with Google right this second to release a mobile payments service on the 26th of May, 2011. This service will, if it's real, be available for US customers of Sprint Nextel, so says "three people familiar with the matter" to Bloomberg. Three's better than one, right?

Hands-On with Hasbro’s Nexus S Powered Robots at Google I/O
Our team was lucky enough to stumble into some cute little robots while roaming around at Google I/O today. What we have here is a little hands-on video of Hasbro's Robot Toys that are being powered by a Google Nexus S. These robots are walking around at will, no talking yet though. Hasbro and Google have been working hard to get these little guys working together so we got a little hands-on time until one has a little "accident".

Nexus S 4G Review
Well what do you know? It's a Sprint Nexus S for your vanilla enjoyment. We got a brief, very brief, and I mean BRIEF look at this device back at CTIA 2011 down in Orlando and found that the only big difference between it and the original to be the weight and the look under the battery cover. Remember the Spy Shot Epic? There's also no slot for a SIM card - no need now that it's not on T-Mobile, right? Right? Right. Sprint's showing off what it says are 4G speeds here, will it stand up to the test? And what other secrets does this newest iteration of Google's Gingerbread flagship hold?

Android 2.3.4 OTA rolling out to Nexus S and Nexus One
Breaking news here, @GoogleNexus has just confirmed that Android 2.3.4 is all set and about to start rolling out in OTA updates to the Nexus One and Nexus S for some bug fixes, but the S also is getting GTalk video and voice chat. This is totally news to us. We reported that it may be coming, but not this soon. Oh and they even mentioned that a surprise is coming also. I wonder if we have a Nexus 2 in the works.

Sprint confirms Nexus S 4G drops May 8 for $200
The Sprint Nexus S 4G will drop on May 8, the carrier has confirmed, taking the existing Nexus S smartphone and giving it a shot of WiMAX goodness. Announced last month, the Nexus S 4G has the same 4-inch Super AMOLED "contour display", NFC and 5-megapixel rear camera. There's also a front-facing camera, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth and A-GPS, along with USB 2.0 connectivity. Sprint has obviously left Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread alone, which means the Nexus S 4G will be first in line for future OS updates. The Nexus S 4G is priced at $199.99 with a new, two year agreement. You'll need a mandatory data plan, too, obviously.

Gtalk video calling for phones with Android 2.3.4 at Google I/O?

Gtalk video calling for phones with Android 2.3.4 at Google I/O?
Although Gtalk has been a mainstay on Android for some time now, it's only with 3.0 Honeycomb that the app got video calling support. Now, it looks like Google may be updating the smartphone version of Gtalk to support two-way video calls, taking to the Google I/O stage to unveil it. One Android user - who has supposedly worked with Samsung - claims to have tested a Nexus S handset running Android 2.3.4 and used Gtalk video calling on the device. The current version of Android Gingerbread shipping is v2.3.3. Considering the number of Honeycomb tablets - which come with video-capable Gtalk preinstalled - is growing, it would certainly make sense for Google to introduce the app for handsets too. Google I/O 2011 kicks off May 10 in San Francisco; we'll be there to bring back all the juicy details. [via The Droid Guy]

Tyfone putting NFC in MicroSD Cards
Wow, this sounds like a great idea, Tyfone has developed a system and are now putting NFC chips, controllers, and antenna's into Micro SD and SD cards. This makes it possible for mobile phones and other PDA like devices to easily add NFC capabilities to their device just by simply changing the SD card they are using. Sounds like a great plan, don't have a Nexus S, just get a Tyfone MicroSD Card.
