LG Optimus F7 launch and as of today we have some details on the launch of the Optimus L5II. LG had this particular model on display during Mobile World Congress and today we learn where the handset will soon be available. As expected, LG is launching the Optimus L5II in a single- and dual-SIM model and the global roll-out will begin in Brazil.
LG announced the Optimus F7 during Mobile World Congress and as of today, it looks like the handset will be heading to Korea. The catch here, the handset has been announced as the Optimus LTE III. The carrier will be SK Telecom and the Optimus F7 (LTE III) will serve as the follow up to the Optimus LTE II.
iOS. The report details the "key trends" in the US smartphone market and covers a three month time period which ended in January. Diving right in with a spoiler, Android was the number one smartphone platform and Apple was the number one smartphone manufacturer.
LG were presented with iF product design awards for 2013. In all, this list includes the Optimus Life, Lucid 4G, Optimus G, Optimus L7, Optimus L9 and Optimus LTE2. With the exception of the Optimus Life and the Optimus LTE2, these were all design awards in the smartphone category.
LG announced the Optimus F5 smartphone earlier in the month during Mobile World Congress and as of today it looks like we have some details in terms of an upcoming release. That release is with Verizon Wireless and it is expected that the Optimus F5 will arrive as the LG Lucid 2. The original Lucid (seen below) was sporting the model number of VS840 and this follow-up looks to be the VS870.
LG recently announced that the Optimus L Series of smartphones had topped 15 million in sales. And as of today, LG has returned with another sales milestone. This one is not covering a specific series of phones, but LTE devices in general. In short, LG has announced they have crossed the 10 million mark in terms of LTE smartphone sales.
LG has also made some smaller announcements. Of which, one is actually being touted as the "world's smallest." This one happens to be the LG WCP-300 Wireless Charger. Another item being shown off is the flip cover case for the Optimus G Pro handset. We recently spent a few minutes checking out each of these while on the show floor here at Mobile World Congress.
LG announced the L Series II during Mobile World Congress. This series consists of the L7 II, L5 II and the L3 II and as of today we have some release details for the L3 II. LG has offered details on the global roll-out to include which countries can expect to see the L3 II come available. The one catch, they have yet to say anything in terms of the price.
Mobile World Congress we're enjoying all sorts of smartphones, tablets, and Android-powered gadgets. One thing that we're seeing plenty of is accessories too. LG has taken a step back from smartphone announcements and unveiled a new wireless charger. The charger is the LG WCP-300 and is being touted as the world's smallest measuring in at just 6.9cm in diameter. Perhaps more important than size though, the LG WCP-300 has been Qi certified by the Wireless Power Consortium.
