AT&T announced the upcoming availability of the LG Optimus G Pro smartphone earlier in the week. And well, true to that announcement, the handset is now available for pre-order. Reports suggest LG will make Nexus 5 for Google
Rumors are circulating today out of Korea that claim LG will produce the fifth device to wear the Nexus name. The device is believed to be the Nexus 5 and so far very little is actually known about the product. The Nexus 4 only launched in November so a Nexus 5 device launching anytime soon would be very unlikely.

AT&T LG Optimus G Pro confirmed with pre-orders beginning Friday
With an expectation that AT&T would be launching the LG Optimus G Pro sometime in May, the carrier has since come forward with an official announcement. In short, AT&T will be releasing the Optimus G Pro on May 10 and they will have pre-orders available this coming Friday. For those looking for the date, the pre-orders will begin on May 3. Otherwise, aside from the price, the specs should sound familiar to those who have been following the earlier rumors.

LG Optimus F5 global rollout begins today
LG announced the Optimus F Series of smartphones back in February during Mobile World Congress. The F Series consists of the F5 and the F7 and LG has said these handsets were designed to bring a “premium user experience and the speed of 4G LTE to a mass audience.” On that note, the Optimus F5 global rollout has since been detailed and it looks like those in Europe will get first access beginning today, April 29.

LG Optimus GK detailed ahead of South Korean launch
LG has come forward with details on their latest Optimus branded smartphone. This one is arriving as the LG Optimus GK and it has specs similar to that of the Optimus G Pro. Well, similar, but on a slightly smaller scale. To begin with, the Optimus GK is sporting a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display (as opposed to the 5.5-inch display on the Optimus G Pro) and is powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor.

LG Cloud global rollout to continue next month
LG originally announced their cloud storage service just about a year ago. The LG Cloud was initially made available for those in South Korea, Russia and the US on May 1, 2012. Since that time we had known LG was planning to have this service available on a more global basis, however it wasn't until today when they released the details. In short, the LG Cloud will be available for an additional 40 countries beginning next month.

IDC: Q1 2013 marks first time smartphones out ship feature phones
The International Data Corporation (IDC) has published their latest report, this time taking a look at smartphone and feature shipments for the first quarter of 2013. While we are looking at the same vendor names as we have seen in past reports, we have seen some other interesting tidbits in terms where the smartphone market is heading as a whole. To begin with, despite what the IDC is calling a "seasonably slow first quarter" there was still a 4 percent growth in the overall mobile phone market.
