Root script for LG G3, other LG models, Lollipop and KitKat

Holla! This is great news for those of you… err, those of us (this writer is a rabid LG fan) who are having problems getting root access to Lollipop versions of the LG G3 and other older LG models like the G2. As you know, root access is the gateway to tweaking your device, so for those who want to squeeze every last feature out of their phones “no root access” just won’t cut it. Well, rejoice with me all of you – the Android gods of XDA have just delivered an “all LG” rooting script.

LG to reportedly shift to metal cases starting with rumored G4 Note

With brands like Samsung and Xiaomi shifting to metal backed smartphones, chances are, we'll be seeing that trend expand to other OEMs as well. If rumors are to be believed, LG will be the next one to "jump ship" as they're already preparing smartphones that will come with metal backing or metal-infused casings. But it won't make it in time for the upcoming new flagship, the LG G4.

LG AKA now available outside of South Korea

A few months back, we told you about this weird and quirky smartphone line being released by LG, but only in its native South Korea. It looks like this unique device, called the LG AKA, became a big hit not just with consumers but even with award-giving bodies, winning an IF Design Award for its "unconventional approach to smartphone design". Now it's being released in other countries, specifically Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Turkey, and maybe even more markets in the pipeline.

Will LG be releasing a phablet soon? FCC docs say so

The LG G4 is shaping up to be one of the most awaited smartphones after images of the non-final renders began leaking online. But it looks like the OEM will not be satisfied with just launching one, as a new gadget appeared at the FCC this week. We don't know much about it based on the documents, but speculation is that it will be a phablet to be launched alongside their upcoming new flagship.

More LG G4 leaked pics saw front and side view

Just a few hours after the non-final render showing the back view of the LG G4 was leaked on Twitter, we now get a few more images showing other angles of the upcoming new flagship. If the first picture kind of looked just like the current flagship, the LG G3, the front and side view now reveal that it just might be different in the sense that it carries the slightly curved design that the LG Flex series is famous for.

Twitter leak: Is this what the LG G4 will look like?

It might not hit the market anytime soon yet, but already rumors about the LG G4 are already swirling about. In fact, an early image render of the OEM's upcoming flagship has leaked on Twitter. And if this image is true or even closer to the actual smartphone, then it looks...just like the current flagship, the LG G3! Granted, the leaked photo only gives us a back view of the gray-themed smartphone, but based on that image, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the current and the future.

LG G4 to be “radically different”, might be the last G

Although LG didn't come to MWC 2015 with a bang as some might hoped, it isn't letting the event pass without getting in a word or two. And while it didn't reveal the LG G4 just yet, it might have dropped a few teasers that will make almost anyone curious about the Korean OEM's plnas for its future flagships. Naturally, it is taking a few cues from its industry rivals, but quite interesting is the hints that LG might be moving on to a different kind of flagship afterwards.

LG Watch Urbane gets LTE, NFC, and battery variant

It isn't uncommon for companies to try and squeeze all they can from a winning product, but LG might again be going overboard just a wee bit. Just a week after it unveiled the classy LG Watch Urbane, which has still to make a public appearance at MWC 2015, it is announcing a new variant that might make you think twice about reaching for that new smartwatch. As the name suggests, the LG Watch Urbane LTE adds 4G connectivity, but it is also adding a lot more than that.

LG releases product announcement video for Watch Urbane

When LG released its G Watch last year, people were genuinely excited and interested how the OEM will create their first wearable for the Android Wear platform. However, the hype was better than the product, and the G Watch became an example of how not to make a smartwatch. They were able to improve things considerably with the LG G Watch R, but it looks like they're bringing it up another notch with the upcoming LG Watch Urbane.

LG G Flex2 rolls out to the rest of the world

LG is making a big fuss over MWC 2015 but that doesn't mean it's taking things sitting down. Instead of trying to play tug of war over the spotlight, the Korean manufacturer is doing all its announcements before the event. It has just recently unveiled a new set of mid-range smartphones and now it is announcing that its hottest new product, the LG G Flex2, will be available this week in more places around the world, with more to come after MWC 2015 is done.
