For those Android loving users up in Canada that have been hoping to be able to use Google's Play Store gift cards, we have some good news. After Google initially launched the service in the US only, it's slowly making its way to other regions around the globe. Earlier this month they launched Gift cards for the UK, and we're hearing Canada is next.

Chameleon Launcher for Phones now available in Google Play
Chameleon originally came to light by way of Kickstarter and as an alternative launcher for tablets. As of today however, the launcher is now publicly available for any and all that want to use it, and also available for tablets as well as smartphones. Yes, Chameleon Launcher for Phones has officially landed in the Google Play Store. No real surprises here, however we do have the breakdown of features, versions and prices.

Google Play Store 4 reportedly leaks with a brand new look
Today we received a few neat little treats from Google. First they launched their new app Google Keep, and now we're seeing what looks to be a brand new version of the Google Play Store. While everyone is currently on Play Store version 3.10.14 or so, the folks from Droid-Life reportedly have the brand new version that's coming soon. They received an apk listed as version 4.0.16 and it's showing a brand new Play Store.

Those looking for a solid audio recording solution on Android, or those who may have been upset about the iRig recording app only being available for iOS users -- your time has come. The iRig Recorder app has officially found its way into the Google Play Store. The app is available for free, however it does have an in-app purchase available for those looking for the complete feature set.

Google Reader alternatives for Android users
We still have a few months before Google Reader officially shuts down, however with the date set -- now may be a good time to start looking. Sure, that petition is still kicking, however we are not counting on that. It would be nice to see, but our minds have already begun looking elsewhere and we have a few options to share. In total we have five to present. The first two will be the closest to Google Reader, the second two are a bit different and the last is well, just different. We should also point out that our criteria was that we could access our feeds on our Android devices.

Coming off of what was an invitation-only beta period, Redbox Instant is now available for the pubic. At this point the invitation is no longer needed and signing up requires nothing more than a visit to the Redbox Instant website. Well, that and the action of actually signing up. We should also give the warning right from the beginning, there is a free trial available, however you will need to provide some credit card details in order to get started.

Facebook looks to be pushing Android app update, outside the Play Store
Facebook appears to be pushing a new update for Android users. The catch here, the update is apparently not coming from the Play Store. Based on what we are seeing, this Facebook update is talking about adding some new and seemingly expected features such as being able to change your profile picture as well as being able to download files without notification.

We have seen a few video teasers in the lead up and coming just as was expected, Rovio and DreamWorks Animation have officially released The Croods game for Android users. The game is available for free and has brought support for devices running Android 2.2 or later. Basically, it is a game that most Android users will be able to play -- should they choose to do so.

Google removes Ad-blockers from the Play Store
Today many frustrated developers took to Twitter and other social sites to share the news that their ad-blocker applications on the Play Store have been removed. Things like AdBlock Plus, Adaway, Adfree Android and many others have all been removed today for violating the Terms of Service. Google's cracking down and hitting that old 'remove' switch this afternoon.

Nuance brings added intelligence with Dragon Mobile 3.0 app update
Nuance has recently update the Dragon mobile app. The app, which is dubbed Dragon (Hands-Free Assistant) is available by way of the Google Play Store and is currently sitting at version 3.0.0. Perhaps more important than a new version number though, the update brings several new and seemingly worthwhile features -- all while the app remains free to download and free to use.
