Pebble smartwatch tear down. While much of the focus was on the actual tear down of the watch, there was a mention of Bluetooth. In reference to the Bluetooth LE support, iFixIt had said that they could not "find evidence of the hardware." Needless to say, the folks at Pebble have since responded and offered some assurance on the matter.
Samsung. Some had believed the announcement was going to happen during Mobile World Congress, but as we now know, that was not the case. Anyway, while it would be nice to talk of word from Samsung, it looks like we have additional details coming from a recently discovered Bluetooth SIG filing.
a new Vertu phone is in the works. The rumor essentially said that two major things will be changing with this latest Vertu phone. First, the Vertu brand will drop Symbian in favor of Android, and second, this latest Vertu phone will be far less expensive that previous iterations (though it's still going to cost an arm and a leg). Fast forward to now, and we're hearing new details about the device.
HTC is set to offer a new device called the HTC Mini with purchases of their impressive 5-inch HTC Butterfly smartphone. This isn't a smartwatch that will sync to your smartphone, instead it's basically a mini phone -- for your phone. The HTC Mini is an NFC-equipped remote control and handset that can do all sorts of things, and even make calls.
Bluetooth accessories at CES. These will include the basics, such as speakers -- both for in-car use and also for use around the house. And well, it looks like SuperTooth has come forward ahead of CES with an announcement for the HD-Voice and the Disco Twin speakers.
