iPhone 6 clone “demo” leaks, running on Android KitKat

As the world waits with bated breath (some more than others) over the actual official details and release of the rumoured iPhone 6, expect that the market will be flooded with clones even before the launch. Some “enterprising genius” in China has released a video with a demo of what is obviously not the real deal, but still entertaining enough to catch the world’s attention (most probably iPhone fans who are too impatient for actual news).

Beats Music app gets first update since Apple purchase

Streaming service Beats Music, which is part of the Beats headphones company that Apple acquired late last month, now has an update for the Android version. This is the first update they’ve had since the deal was announced and the new features will try to make this service more user-friendly to compete with other music streaming apps like Spotify, Songza and Rdio.

Apple buys Beats for $3 billion; will Android get iTunes?

Apple’s Beats deal has been confirmed, with the Cupertino firm snapping up the flashy headset maker for $3 billion. In the deal, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine will get seats on the Apple board, and Beats CEO Ian Rogers will report to Apple’s Eddy Cue. The deal will keep Beats operating separately from Apple, which could be big for Android users.

Apple, Google end Motorola-related patent squabble

Apple and Motorola, who have been embroiled in patent litigation, with both sides now agreeing to drop the suit. In a statement, Apple and Google (who owned Motorola at the time the suit was originally heard) both said they’d work together on patent reform.

Chitika: Samsung tablet use way up, Apple takes slight dip

Chitika has new web use statistics for tablets, and it shows the iPad is still king. Though Apple’s tablet offering leads by a wide margin, Samsung has picked up some ground. They’ve also grown quite a bit over this time last year, but still only have about 10% of the usage an Apple device does.
