Samsung 5G service hits 7.5 Gbps in testing

Samsung has announced that it has achieved a major milestone in its testing of future tech for 5G mobile phone service. In testing, the new 5G mobile data service has achieved speeds of over 7.5 Gbps. That speed is over 30 times faster than current generation 4G LTE service. Samsung achieved record setting speed in moving tests with an uninterrupted 1.2Gbps over a 5G connection while traveling in a vehicle at 100m/h.

LG has pulled the covers off a new smartphone that it promises will bring a premium 4G LTE experience to users. The new smartphone is called the LG F60 and LG is billing the device as a "stylish" new smartphone. Out of the box, the F60 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Nokia XL updated with 4G LTE edition in China

Six months after the Nokia XL announcement, China Mobile and Nokia are launching the Nokia XL with 4G LTE connectivity in China. Sadly, the 4G LTE edition will not work elsewhere as it supports LTE Bands 38, 39 and 40 (TD-LTE or TD-SCDMA) only.

The rationale for the original Samsung Galaxy Core smartphone was to provide a lower-end option for those who wanted a phone that looked like and acted like the current Samsung flagship phone at that point.
