FreedomPop’s free data service launches in “beta”
FreedomPop, the wireless data service that promises free 4G access, launched in a "public beta" of sorts today. FreedomPop users can access Clearwire Corporation's 4G WiMAX networks free of monthly charges and contracts, but there a couple of catches. First, the service isn't free right off the bat, as you'll need to buy either a USB router for $49 or a mobile hotspot for $89 from FreedomPop. Once you've purchased your peripheral of choice and are prepared to connect to the Internet, you'll be ready to take advantage of the free 500MB of data per month that FreedomPop has on offer.

AT&T launches 4G LTE in eight new cities
While AT&T might not have as big of a 4G network as Verizon, the carrier is working hard to get its faster speeds to more cities and hopefully catch up with Verizon's 4G offering. AT&T announced throughout the past couple of days that 4G LTE service is now live in eight new cities.

We haven't heard from Verizon recently with their continued rollout of their impressive 4G LTE network for the US but they've still been laying it down. Verizon has recently announced that an additional 12 markets across the Midwest will all be expanding to greater 4G LTE speeds, as well as a few new locations too.

The folks from Samsung have been busy the past few weeks launching budget smartphones for almost all carriers as of late. Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile have all received similar mid-range smartphones that offer impressive specs for the price, and today the Now Network and Samsung announced their new budget 4G LTE smartphone. Although we aren't sure how much LTE you'll be finding since this isn't Verizon or AT&T.

Rumors of an HTC One X+ have been floating around for some time now, some even stating a model arriving for T-Mobile. Today however a new and improved Tegra 3 powered quad-core 4G LTE One X+ has hit the FCC en route to AT&T. NVIDIA's Icera modem recently was approved for AT&T 4G LTE too, so this makes perfect sense.

Everything Everywhere held its highly-anticipated 4G event in London today, and we were right there to take it all in. Perhaps one of the biggest announcements of the event was that Everything Everywhere has been re-branded as EE before launching 4G LTE service in the UK. As an added bonus, EE will also be offering fiber service, another first for the company - a team up between carriers Orange and T-Mobile UK.
