Google outs Vulkan API for better 3D graphics handling in Android

As more and more “high graphics” games flood the Google Play Store, developers are trying to balance out the look of their games – especially the ones that require 3D graphics rendering – with the hardware that’s available out there. To that point, any decent midrange phone from last year moving forward should be able to run these games, but Google has discovered that Android’s API for rendering 3D graphics content isn’t really up to speed.

Make your own 3D Hologram Projector by following these easy steps

The future of 3D hologram display is not impossible. We don't doubt that our Star Wars hologram fantasies will soon be a reality. It's just a matter of time before the world sees and accepts such technology as a standard. The closest tech we've seen so far is the Holus project that is currently on Kickstarter. We're still waiting for this crowdfunded project to be delivered to backers.

Caltech researchers develop 3D scanning camera chip for mobile

Doing things in 3D (three dimensions) is still a “thing” these days, decades after it officially became a trend. These days, 3D printing and viewing 3D images and videos are still luxury devices and features in devices, and so technology adds one more. Scanning objects in 3D usually requires multiple cameras to record multiple planes and aspects to an object. This new Caltech invention may just have the potential to make life easier for us – a single 3D scanning camera chip.

Qualcomm releases Adreno graphic drivers for ICS – let the custom ROMs flow

Good news appeared over the weekend for many HTC smartphone owners, especially the ones with slightly older devices running Qualcomm processors. While Qualcomm hasn't been the friendliest group to modders and the Android Community, they have tried. With all the changes to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich modders have had a hard time building fully operational and smooth ROM's with Android 4.0 ICS. Over the weekend Qualcomm made this entire process much easier for smartphones running their platform.

GADMEI 8″ glasses-free 3D tablet can be yours for $199

First off let me start by saying I'm still not really sold on this mobile 3D technology even though I did enjoy reviewing the HTC EVO 3D. What we have for you today is really interesting though because it has some impressive specs on a full HD 8" 1280 x 800 resolution display all rocking glasses-free 3D. The downside is only Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board but I'm sure a few XDA developers could change that. Check out the full specs, pictures, and video below.
