HTC Desire HD hits Three UK on contract and PAYG

Three UK has announced that the HTC Desire HD is now shipping on its network.  The 4.3-inch Android 2.2 smartphone is free on £40 per month tariffs (2000 any network minutes, 5000 Three-to-Three minutes, 5000 texts and 1GB data).  Meanwhile on Pay As You Go the HTC Desire HD is £449.99 and includes a £10 Top Up. There are more details on the HTC Desire HD over at our unboxing article.  While we were hoping to bring you the full review this week, unfortunately HTC informed us that all the review units sent out were in fact running non-final firmware, and needed to be returned to be reflashed.  We should have the full review early next week, however. HTC Desire Android 2.2 update due tomorrow says Three UK

UK carrier Three has confirmed that the HTC Desire Android 2.2 update (v2.25.771.1) will be going live on Thursday October 14th at 16:00 Taiwanese time (e.g. 9am UK time).  The update will presumably begin going out OTA at that time, though we're guessing it'll be a staggered roll-out and not every Desire will be offered the new firmware at the same time.

Froyo on the Motorola Droid?

Pictures emerged a short while ago of Froyo runni98ng on the Motorola droid. We already received confirmation from Motorola that the Droid would indeed receive the update to Android 2.2 but none of thought it would come this soon. Ok, this is by no means an official update running on this Droid, in fact it may not be Froyo at all.

3 UK HTC Desire arrives April 20th
