Samsung Fascinate users report Froyo update problems and solutions

Samsung Fascinate users are complaining of errors after receiving the OTA update of OS 2.2 Froyo. The error message that users are receiving is "UPDATE FAILED or INCOMPLETE. reason: IP_PREVIOUS_UPDATE_FAILED" and appears to be affecting users with a Fascinate that is either rooted, has a previous update that failed to complete, or has a corrupted system directory. Users have tried everything from a hard reset to removing the battery with no help in clearing the error. But thanks to a smart Fascinate user, there's a workaround.

Samsung Vibrant gets an update tweak

Users of the Samsung Vibrant (aka the Samsung Galaxy S) can get an update for their phones that fixes a few bugs here and there. The update, known as KB5, also updates Gmail and YouTube, boosting them to R9 versions respectively. There was also a DRM issue with the music player that prevented some music from playing. Samsung has fixed that as well.

Froyo for Motorola Milestone XT720 Today

Everything you know about updates is wrong! It turns out that this lovely bit of device we all call the Milestone will today be getting Android 2.2 Froyo, an update that Motorola themselves said would never again be updated as far as the mobile OS goes. Of course, this version of Froyo hasn't come from Motorola, it's come from an XDA hacker by the name of Dexter_nib, a ROM for you all to get your tasty treats on.

Is AT&T adding Froyo support to the Samsung Captivate?

Samsung Captivate fans who have been languishing with older versions of Android can now rejoice as AT&T seems to be gearing up to update the Captivate to Android 2.2 (Froyo).  According to it's support page for the Captivate, users can drill through instructions on how to locate the Captivates firmware version and right there is a reference to firmware version 2.2 running TouchWiz overlaid.  That offers a ray of hope for Captivate users who have seen other handsets, including the Galaxy S scream by with vs. 2.3 (Gingerbread).

New Froyo Build Leaks Out For Nexus One

It appears that Google has been working on yet another update for 2.2, and the open source community has gotten their hands on it. In the build is said to be more speed improvements, better Wi-Fi performance, and bug fixes. Build number FRG33 also has a newer version of the installed radio.

Droid Incredible 2.2 Update Still Rolling Out: What About the Droid X?

There have been rumors that the Droid Incredible 2.2 update had been stalled over the weekend. It appears that information was incorrect and, the update is still rolling out to several individuals.
