That fantastic source of leaked product information known as the FCC has givien its seal of approval to a new Android handset for T-Mobile. The handset in question is the Samsung Galaxy, otherwise known as the i7500.

The i7500 is expected to hit other carriers as well, including Verizon. The FCC approval doesn’t point to what carrier will get the phone or when, it simply says that that device was approved. We already know most of the details of the phone including that it has a 3.2-inch touchscreen.

We don’t know all of the details though and other rumors for the handset include that it will feature a microSD card slot supporting 32GB cards. The battery is thought to be a 1500mAh unit and it has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

  1. I've been waiting patiently for this phone, man. I sincerely hope it lives up to the hype. I'll be rooting it and flashing a HERO ROM ASAP =]

Edit: Sidebar, I REALLY hope we get the fly white one that released in Europe. I'd love to have that one.
  2. Ummmmm... This isn't the Galaxy it is the Samsung Galaxy Lite and it passed the FCC 4 days ago.
  3. If you expect a telephone that can "receive" a phone call like every 20$ phone, the Samsung Galaxy is not recommended. That's my experience after having it for a couple of weeks (in France). If you google "Samsung Galaxy auto reboot", you could see that I'm not the one that has this problem meanwhile we haven't have any explanation from Samsung yet. Otherwise, when it works, it works great!!!
  4. A little too late IMO. With the Nokia N900 just on the horizon headed for T-Mobile, this should've happened about two months ago for it to be good for Samsung. But Alas, two months ago was the time for mytouch 3G, so what was Samsung to do about it..
  5. i agree too little too late
  6. This makes me happy!
i know less ram, yada yada... but this is a phone i really want to see! if the price is right, it will be a phone i buy.
  7. I like the specs on this phone, but I would really like a physical keyboard. On a side note : Does anyone think there is a way to connect a usb, wireless or bluethooth keyboard to an android phone? If so it would solve some of the problems some people are having rooting their phones that don't have a physical keyboard.
  8. I like the specs of the phone also, but the successor to my G1 will have to have a physical keyboard. I force myself to use the vk on my G1 very often to see how I adapt to it, but I just am nowhere near as efficient so far, even with fairly regular use of it.

For myself, it is worth the slight additional bulk and weight to have the keyboard.
