Swiftkey recently entered a beta phase for their newest iteration of the popular keyboard. As device screen sizes become almost incessantly different, Swiftkey saw an opportunity. Their newest offering is meant to transcend the device, and offer various modes and docking options to make one app suit any mobile device.

Like any beta product, theirs has its share of issues. Their newest update aims to fix a myriad of issues dogging users. From the keyboard jumping around the screen to remembering which currency you use, Swiftkey has improved their keyboard pretty significantly.

For your pleasure, the full changelog:

  • Moving between 3, 4 and 5 row layouts should now work
  • Keyboard will no longer jump around when unlocking your home screen
  • Currency key is now correct for your phone’s locale
  • We now have Punjabi, Icelandic, Bulgarian, Azerbaijani, Russian Windows and Turkish layouts
  • Docked compact layout now remembers if it should be on the left or right

While the fixes are important, Swiftkey is nowhere near finished. The known issues they still need to fix are also significant. From rendering issues that cause the keyboard to hide a significant part of itself to the heatmap not working properly, Swiftkey still has a long way to go.
