The official announcement of the new flagship, the LG G5, is just a few weeks away, after it’s been confirmed that it will be revealed during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. But of course, since a lot of people are genuinely interested in what new thing the Korean OEM will be offering, we’ve been hearing rumors left and right. And now, what seems to be the diagram of the smartphone has been leaked online, and it looks like this will be a departure from the previous flagships.

For one thing, based on the diagram, the G5 will be thinner, taller, and wider than the current flagship, the LG G4. The latter is at 148.9 x 76.1 x 6.3-9.8mm while the former is shown at 149.4 x 73.9 x 8.2mm, based on the leaked document. Another major change is that it looks like the volume keys will now be located on the side instead of at the back with the previous flagships. The power button will still be at the back, and it will also most likely have a fingerprint scanner, like in some of the newer Nexus handsets.

We can’t see it from the diagram of course, but one of the strongest rumors about the LG G5 is that it will have an all-metal build which is the first time that LG will be having it for one of their smartphones. What the diagram shows is that it will have an edge to edge display in what will reportedly be a 5.6-inch screen with a QHD resolution.

  1. A bad idea to bring the volume knob to
the side. I switched to the LG G3 because the buttons no longer sit
on the sides. Because i hold the device with my thumb near the volume
down key I often put down the volume by accident in which I no longer
hear the ringtone and therefore i’am no longer accessible. If this
design become a reality, I will unfortunately have to skip the LG G5.
