One of the most highly anticipated films coming this summer is Warner Bros’ Suicide Squad, about a bunch of antiheroes and bad guys from the DC Universe that have been put together to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for a get out of jail free card. To create even more interest in the movie, the studio has teamed up with Samsung to create a Suicide Squad VR experience for those who have access to the Gear VR.

This was actually demonstrated over the weekend at the San Diego Comic Con where everything geeky and superhero-y was on display. Some lucky fans were able to try out this VR experience which will supposedly be available soon for everyone who has a compatible Samsung device and a Gear VR to boot. We’re not really sure if you can call it a game, but anyway, you will be sent on a rescue mission and if you fail, then you will die. Well, just virtually don’t worry.

The experience will let you view one of the best scenes in a movie, a “mob fight” where you get to float above the characters as the fight commences (after a few scenes from the trailer). During the last part of the footage, you actually get to be Harley Quinn herself, and you would now have to participate in the fight scene as you fight, shoot, and reload your weapons until you complete your mission.

There isn’t any info yet on which devices it will be available in and also when it will be released. It will probably be a few days before or on the release date itself which is August 5. In the meantime, you can see a bit of the behind-the-scenes in the video below.
