Most major subscription cable channels have been offering apps that allow users to stream movies and their original programs to their mobile devices for a while. The caveat to these apps includes the fact that you do have to subscribe to the movie networks via a participating cable provider to be able to use them. However, if you do subscribe to a cable provider that offers the networks you can watch streaming versions of your favorite shows and movies at no additional cost.

The big problem for many Android users was that some of the most popular a movie networks on cable didn’t have apps available for the Android platform. That has all changed with Starz offering three new video streaming apps that are available now for Android users.

The available apps included Starz Play, Encore Play, and Movieplex Play. The apps offer access to all of the original series that the networks air allowing you to catch up on episodes you missed and past seasons in many cases. You can also watch movies that the network is offering that particular month.

There’s nothing surprising about the video streaming apps and they appear to have common user interfaces rebranded for each of the three Starz networks. Currently, the apps support only Cox, AT&T U-verse, Directv, and Verizon cable subscribers.
