You’ve probably been in a situation where you hear a song playing in a restaurant and of course would like to know what song is that but your hands are full or busy doing something else so you can’t swipe and tap on your music discovery app. But if you have SoundHound and you update to the latest version, you can now do it through voice commands with the magic phrase “Ok Hound”. It also lets you use voice assist of some sort for apps that are integrated with SoundHound like Pandora and Spotify.

This hands-free experience for SoundHound users is the “most advanced voice interface of any mobile app” according to the developers. By simply saying “Ok Hound” followed by the command, you’ll be able to use the app completely hands-free. Not only will you be able to start those searches for what’ currently playing over the venue’s speakers, but you will also be able to do other voice-initiated things. You will also be able to find out more information about a song or artist, like discography, personal information, etc.

Since SoundHound is also integrated with some music apps, you’ll be able to use the voice assist on them as well. You can tell it to play music or videos from YouTube. You can ask to launch a station from Pandora. And it is also the first app that will allow Spotify to add a song to the playlist through voice commands.

The update has already started rolling out to users. Simply check if it’s available for you through its Google Play Store page.
