It seems that Sony‘s loyal fans will have something to beat the heat this summer. The manufacturer has confirmed that the Sony Xperia Z2 is scheduled to set the country ablaze during that season, though exactly when and where we still don’t know.

The Xperia Z2 has had a lot of things happen around it, both good and bad, and has already made its way to some markets. In fact, before finally landing in the US, it will first be making its way to our Canadian neighbors next month, so we can probably expect it here around mid-June. It’s larger sibling, the Xperia Z2 Tablet, on the other hand, is slated to make an appearance already in May. That said, we’re still not sure which carriers will be advertising the new smartphone, but interested buyers can look to the Sony online store for their fix.

The Sony Xperia Z2 has built up quite a reputation, but in many ways it feels more like an incremental update to the Xperia Z1. That, however, doesn’t really steal any fire from Sony’s flagship, at least for the first half of 2014, which will definitely still see its fair share of sales. After all, an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, though the slightly slower variant, 3 GB of RAM, 3200 mAh battery, and a 20.7 megapixel rear shooter, all in a 5.2-inch body, definitely makes the Xperia Z2 a market contender.

However, not everything has been smooth-sailing for the smartphone, especially when it came to stocks. The Xperia Z2 pre-orders was rumored to have already gone quickly out of stock and there were fears of supply shortage that, so far, has not yet materialized. Hopefully any such issues will be fully resolved, if they do exist, within the month or so waiting for the Sony Xperia Z2 to hit the shelves.
