The Sony Xperia E1 is being listed for sale in the UK. Though not expected to be available until March 10, the handset is listed on the Amazon UK site. Pre-orders are now being taken, and keep a pretty impressive price point. If Sony does their diligence and brings this one to the US, it may actually have a chance to challenge the Moto G.

Clove UK is currently asking around £134.99 for the device, which translates to about $225. Amazon is selling it for a slightly higher £149.99, which is about $250. the Amazon German site is listing the device for $190 for the single SIM variety, and $204 for the dual SIM.

The Xperia E1 isn’t the sleekest device around, coming in at 12mm thick, nearly double what we’ve come to expect. It’s got a 4.3-inch 480 x 800 display, a 3.2MP rear camera, Snapdragon 200(!) processor at 1.2GHz, 512MB RAM, 4GB Memory on board with MicroSD Card support, and a 1,750mAh battery.

Specs being what they are, this one is definitely lacking in just about every category. The price, however, is approachable, and a good option for someone who just needs a decent smartphone at a good price. It runs Android 4.3, which isn’t great, but for the consumer who would purchase this device, it probably won’t matter much.

We’re not over the moon about this one, but we do like Sony’s involvement in the mid-range market. We so often think of Sony as a high-end OEM with nothing to offer the const-conscious consumer, but this device could change that. We hope to see this one stateside, as a healthy relationship with carriers could drive this into a ton of hands for Sony.
