Website called mobile.nu discovered what appears to be “internal documents” on what looks to be Sony Ericsson’s forthcoming Android-powered phone, an XPERIA codenamed Rachael. Rachael is rumored to sport a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, HSPA & 8MPcamera. The screen size is uknown – but looks like it could be anywhere from 3.5 to 4.1-inch and yes there’s a there is a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Rachael looks like it’s an all-touch device without a physical QWERTY-keyboard.

  5. android is taking over the world one mobile phone at a time :]

thats just the way we DO ahah.
  6. even though i wanna believe that johnny, ICKY is right. windows mobile has plenty of phones running their OS and they are nowhere near takin over the world. so more phones doesnt really mean world domination
  7. god damn look at the specs on that! please tell me this is one of the 18-20 devices being released this year... im kind of glad i havent pre ordered the hero yet because this thing is a beast... more info please
  8. lmao like jet said KNOWING SE this handset will probably be released in 2012

well if thats the case i will get the hero now and by the time this comes out i will be ready for it... but i would just kick myself in the ass if i get the hero and then this comes out in the next 6 months...
  10. what ever happened of your dream to get the i7500 lol
  11. Seeing that SE pushed out some really great phone pretty fast (C905, W995) I have slight hopes for this to be released rpetty soon as well... soon for SE = @ x-mas.
  12. unfortunately it will never come to tmo and if u have one u cant use the tmo 3g on it. lame!

if AT&T gets the hero and this phone... they will become the new "Android Carrier" and tmo forever will be known as that company that had an opportunity and wasted it...
  16. oh my goodness 1 ghz processor!!!! thats CRAZY!! the macbook air runs on 1.86 ghz :0
  17. the i7500 has 288 ram.. it was anounced on the official facebook account of samsung galaxy
  18. Why is it almost every new phone is suspected to be an android phone? This phone only has three face buttons and no trackball/dpad, which is less than what is required by the android sdk.
    1: ???
    2: home button like iphone?
    3: back button

I guess we can assign 1: to be the menu button. But it's still missing the hangup/call button, but I suppose they can design a new android call interface with those features. But how about the all important search button?

I know android is new a exciting, but it's a bit silly to think every other new phone is android. Heck, why not suspect it's a Palm WebOS phone since they will bring that OS to more phones than the Pre. Chances are, if this phone has Xperia in the name, it is designed to build on the previous Xperia experience... which is Windows Mobile (WM 7 perhaps?)

ummm am i missing something here? my g1 doesnt have an "all important search button" maybe i got a defective handset i dont know
  20. why do they think its an android device?? because maybe SE has been announcing an android phone for quite sometime, and on top of that even the internal docs that were found said it was.. not to mention SE said they would be developing high-end android devices; and from what I read a 1 ghz snapdragon processor w/ 8 mp cam and 4" touch screen is pretty high end i'd say.. wonder what the ram will be man oh man..
  21. that phone overclocked to its full 1 ghz would be running almost as fast as a macbook air...with the exeption that the mac air is dual core..
  22. wow. another new cool android phone. 2012? Gee, looks like I'll be holding onto my G1 longer than I *thought*

it's in the battery compartment. next to the sim card.
  24. ooooh well i guess i need a search button to search for the "all important search button" or maybe just an app

g1 doesnt have it. but the mytouch and hero have it... i thought it was a pretty stupid button at first but now i think it might be the most used one...(besides home...)
  26. the less buttons the better! i took off my search bar a long time ago cuz i could easily press menu>search

lol i use to think that too... but honestly with an all touchscreen device, the more buttons the better.

think of it this way... the search button can be used for more that just doing a google search at the homescreen.

lets say you wanted to search your music. with a g1 you just go to the music app open up your keyboard and start typing... but if the hero doesnt have a physical keyboard how could you search your music? you press the search button. same with contacts, calendar, and so on.
  28. but its totally different search functions. just try pressing search on your g1 while you have your app drawer out and it wont search just your app drawer it will start a search in google lol.

maybe "sense UI" changed this but if google wouldve changed that we wouldve have gotten that

well im only speculating seeing that i have never seen a hero device in action, but i imagine thats how it would work... or thats how i hope it will work.
  30. thats one more feature the iphone has that i wish g1 had. the universal search feature (whatever its called)

we are supposed to be getting it in donut.... but there are some apps in the market that mimic it pretty well...
  32. ive tried them they suck! lol i dont want a notification on my notification bar all the time just to use that lol
  33. The phone is not bad, but I want the sense UI to come as standard with andriod phones!
  34. thats a little much to ask seeing as how "sense UI" is owned by HTC and this is an SE handset
  35. They should make sense UI open source!
  36. Hrm, I have no idea where all of this 2012 business is coming from. From what I have gathered on this phone, Sony Ericsson is aiming for a release late during late 2009 to coincide with their other Xperia, high end phones. Besides, releasing any time after the holiday season would be a terrible idea.
  37. HOLY CRAP!

    The Rachael UI looks incredible!!

Can you believe that's our beloved Android?

So you`ll have a better understanding of how SE operates and their time frames from launch to release.
